When we finally get back the ILed Memphis pitchers it will seem like a boatload of free arms. Rajcic-Roby-Robberse-Cornwall-BThompson-Henderson-Fitts. We already have Hansen-Mathews-Cijntje-Molina-Hjerpe- at Memphis plus BDavis-Lin-Doyle-Franklin Aitaat Springfield that should be moving up. Maybe they will realize that you can have too much pitching.
There is also Daniel Eagen RHSP from the Noot trade who has made 21 starts in AA this year with a WHIP 1.275 and K/9 11.2. A matter of concern to me is that he missed most of 2023 during his college career due to an elbow injury but apparently did not have surgery. So that is an unknown situation and the extent of health risk going forward is unknown. There has been some water under the bridge since, so that is a positive.
It’s not a good sign to me that Henderson last pitched July 28th, Robberse on July 10th. Neither has been put on the IR though. Robberse’s rehab stint is just about up.
Henderson is pitching for Memphis today. Clarke pitched last night for Peoria. So they both are back from their rehab assignments.
Haven’t heard anything about Henderson or Ellisalt. There was speculation Henderson had Tommy John surgery.
I just read a report that said it’s unclear whether Henderson will be getting flexor tendon surgery, or some other kind of elbow surgery.
Robbersse rehabbed a few innings this year. But nothing since. And Thompson hasn’t pitched this year. Since he has been injured and the Cardinals were granted another year of control, would the team get another year of injury free control. Or maybe the Cards are tired of this situation and release him. Thompson and Chase Davis are first round busts. At least the team got some MLB time from Thompson.
