Don’t see a 4-2-6 every day! Now let’s score three runs. Gotta believe!

Bases loaded walk, no outs. Unraveling quickly.

Yes, Flaherty holding tough so far, but need base runners to put pressure on the SDPs. We can win this game against their bullpen shuffle.

Terrible at bat by DC. Would someone please remind him this is a do-or-die playoff game?!

Well, not much worth commenting on tonight. Might as well put Schildt on the mound to serve up batting practice to the Indians. Wouldn’t be any worse than what’s out there now.

Nice comeback win! Agree w/STLCard, the 2-0 pitch to Wong that should have been a strike sealed the deal. But Rosario had trouble the whole time. I really wanted to see Molina take on Rosenthal, but I’ll take the win!

I almost went the way of Blingboy tonight and headed for the exit, but reconsidered after some reflection and can say I’m proud our team took the field tonight. They made the right call. Every aspect of American life is politicized these days, but MLB can help by taking the field, showing unity as a team and playing the game America loves without politics on the field.

That said,Holland is now on the mound so time to rack up some runs.

I like seeing Holland do for the Royals what he did for us in 2018. Good chance they’ll shed him at the end of the season.

Why on earth is Webb still on the mound?

Was hoping to see a game today and not White Sox BP. Oh well. What will tomorrow bring?

Well, we can’t beat the Twins, that’s now settled. Maybe better luck vs the Brewers on Friday. Would like to see Shildt lean towards performance and not player development in this short season. No time for Bader to figure out how to hit a ball, need to put someone in his place who can actually make contact, one hit in 11 at bats notwithstanding.

PDL looking good so far. Even the pitch to Cruz was a good one that luck turned into a double. Now need some base runners.

Slider down and away with two strikes gets our guys every time. You’d think they’d know what’s coming by now. Need to rethink our DH too, just not working.

Haven’t been a Dexter fan since they signed him in 2017, way too overpriced for his performance. Just as a reminder, he’s pulling in $16.5 million this year, so keep that in mind every at bat and every time he holds up short on a fly to right. That said, he occasionally contributes, but seems to be only when it’s not a critical time in the game, as opposed to when the stakes are high. -1.3 WAR in 2018, 1.5 WAR in 2019, not elite material, barely starter material if that. I’m not giving Dexter much slack early in the season. I also don’t understand Shildt’s infatuation with Bader. The guy can’t hit, time to let a player who can hit take that slot. Bader at the plate is the most frustrating thing to watch on this team right now.

Nice win! A little dicey in the 8th and 9th, just like we’re used to! But good at bats for the most part with a couple exceptions. Keep it going guys.

Jack gets Bell to pop out and Moran to whiff with two on. Those two aren’t exactly Pujols and Berkman, but still two good outs.

Good start by Jack tonight and appears the team is thinking baseball vice other non-baseball issues. I like what I’m seeing from the pre-game through 1 1/2 so far. Now need some hits. Weren’t Pirates 3-18 or some such in pre-season? Should be an easy win.

Been looking forward to this day for a loonnng time! Let’s get it going. Quick start will be needed this season to do anything memorable because come Oct, it will still be playoff baseball despite the short season and the opt-outs. Cards 1-0 by midnight Friday!

Stlcard25, thanks for the sentiments, you are right on all counts. Most of us thought we were looking at a 3rd or 4th place finish about halfway through the season but we ended up in the LCS after taking it to a pretty potent ATL team. Looking forward to 2020 with a few improvements that will get us to the Series… Good year, Cards! Now rest up for next year!

The cardinals aren’t known for dumping everyone especially in fowler and carps case they owe them lots of money.

You are right, 1982willie. a big change to our lineup will be very expensive, if even possible. And Cards’ reluctance to sign free agents means we’re probably in for a stretch of struggling in the Division.

But good for the Nationals. I wish them luck against the AL…could be Houston. Go figure!

Only fitting that Carp strands the bases loaded. Kind of sums up his season. I really hope there’s a massive shift in our lineup for next year, we were fortunate to make it this far and it won’t happen again with this crew. But other teams are seeing what we see, so trade value will be low for most of our starters. Would anyone really make a trade for Ozuna with his terrible defense? DeJong is a good defender, but can’t make contact any more. Carp…Fowler…’nuff said. There’s still hope for Bader in my view, Goldy should stay as should Wong and Molina. Maybe trade J-Mart for an AL outfielder. I’m hopeful for next year with our pitching, but this LCS was just pathetic and made our weaknesses stand out.

Came home to see a 7-0 rout, but feels more like an execution. Has there ever been such an unproductive LCS by the losing team in baseball history? Wouldn’t surprise me if no. Questions for MO for the off season…where’s our Robles? Where’s our Rendon? Where’s our Soto? That said, we are farther than most of us thought we’d be at the ASB. Just hope the FO doesn’t think that means we only need tweaks to get to the WS next year. We will need much, much more than that.

Some terrible at bats tonight. Folten-whatever-his-name-is was made to look like Mickey Lolich because our guys were swinging at every slider off the plate that came their way. But, leaving Atlanta with a split is ok as long as we put some better at-bats together on Sunday. We should wrap this thing up by Monday. Just a shame Flaherty had no run support early, would have been a different game.

This is pretty close to a must win game

I agree with you BrockLou, but it’s a must win for the Braves, not us.

Flaherty is not sharp, but holding his own right now. Gotta get Swanson here…
