Love seeing the Yankees losing at Yankee Stadium, especially to a small market team. Hope KC can pull off the win. And the stare-down Ragans gave Soto after striking him out was worth the price of admission!
And is just me or is Costas completely in for the Yankees? He’s jumping out of his seat for every ball the Yankees hit, but gives a matter-of-fact call for hits and runs by KC. Another reason I haven’t liked Costas for the last 20 years.
The Padres/Dodgers seems to be evenly matched, but on the surface the other 3 NLDS seems to have a heavy favorite in the form of the Yankees, Phillies and Indians. But this is baseball and all four of these NLDS have a good chance of being knotted up at even at the conclusion of today’s action. I hope all four go the full distance.

How true about Costas. I’d hate to see a grown man cry if the Yankees lose, but calling Costas “grown” is a bit of an overstatement!
Haha…I like Costas okay, but you’re right that he’s over the top when he gets started on the Yankees. If you think he likes Judge, you ought to see how light headed and dizzy he gets whenever he hears the name, Mickey Mantle…Haha!

Yeah, 4Ev, Patek was one of my favorites who had two monster ALCS in ’76 and ’77. At 5-5 and 148 lbs. Freddie was an inch shorter than our good friend David Eckstein. There’s a well known photo of Freddie sitting alone and dejected in the visitor dugout at Yankee Stadium long after the last out had been recorded of the ’77 ALCS in which Patek hit .389 collected 5 RBI’s and scored 4 runs in that 5 game series. Freddie also continues to hold many KC Royals team fielding records. Patek was a first rate SS who played in a bygone era that seems like yesterday to me…

I missed that. It’s worth going back to look at it, so I will. I remember Soto with the posturing a few years back against Mikolas in the playoffs.

I think you are correct and the same goes for Roberts if the Dodgers have another playoff meltdown. Skip Schumaker could end up choosing between the Yankees or Dodgers for his next gig. He needs one of those instead of the White Sox.
Yeah, that WS the Dodgers won in ’20 doesn’t really count for much at all. Roberts would be well advised to at least guide his team to the WS.
The pitcher who takes a turn for the Dodgers tonight was 1-6 with an ERA of 5.38 during the ’24 regular season. For a second I thought he might be Steven Matz, but tonight’s Dodger pitcher is a RH’er…At any rate, you’d think that Dave Roberts could place a help wanted ad in the classifieds and come up with a better pitcher to pin the Dodger hopes on in a post-season game. Now that I’ve voiced my view, Buehler will go out there and paint a masterpiece against SD tonight.
The Dodgers have their hands full with the Padres and might very well get bounced in the division series again. They have won just 2 of the their last 9 playoff games, all at the division series level.
