Also nice to see Perez have a 3 hit game.
He’s hanging in there at Springfield.

Brian knows the Cards system backward and forward. Do you know any reasons why he was promoted over other guys, Brian?
Was it to give him a little major league payroll time before Hudson is brought up?

Really nice to see Oviedo’s outing last night in the shortened Memphis game.
    3 2/3, 2 hits, 0 runs, 3Ks, and only 1 walk.

As I said, Gary must be embarrassed. He has stated at Winter Warm Up that if you produce, the Cardinals will promote you and reward your performance. Especially when you produce well at the AAA level, against high level minor league competition. So who do they promote? A guy who had been in Japan the last 8 years and has a 9+ ERA in a short stint at Memphis. With a WHIP of 2.32. 20 hits in 10 1/3 innings.
How does Gary explain that to some of the other Memphis players?

Gary LaRocque must be embarrassed by this.

So after 8 seasons in Japan, Dickson comes back and pitches in relief in 11 games at Memphis. In those 11 games, he pitches 10 1/3 innings and gives up 20 hits, 13 runs (11 earned), walks 4, and strikes out only 5. And he’s promoted over guys like Woodford? I don’t get it. Does anyone see any logic?

Would like to see how Yepez could do against major league pitching. If he does well, he could compete for the LF job. If he wins it, TO moves to CF.

Yepez has played 38 games in the outfield.

Anyone know why Burleson has cooled off so much? Just stiffer competition?

Wish they had called up Yepez. He’s earned a trip to St. Louis.

Brian – I’m tired of this guy insulting me. He’s been after me for some time now. Look above. I’m talking about McFarland and Gallegos and he comes out of nowhere to insult me. Why don’t you jump in when a poster like willie insults another poster like that? He’s the one breaking your posting etiquette. No me. I’m not the bad guy, Brian. I’d like a little help.

Very simple, willie. What does your post
    #171323 mean in plain English?

It’s not cute, willie. It’s not funny. Explain what it means so I understand. Talk straight like a man. Don’t make a comment and then play some juvenile rope-a-dope. If you have something to say, say it.

So, what are you referring to, willie? I’m interested to know. I can’t understand what your thoughts are. Please illuminate. Thanks.

I don’t see many bullpen guys at Memphis or Springfield that could help. Perhaps Santos at Springfield. Maybe starters in waiting like Oviedo, Rondon, Libby, Woodford can help in the major league pen.

Willie – I’d opt for a good hitter who’s an above average defender in CF. Most all field no hit CFers end up losing their jobs eventually. I don’t agree that Bader saves more than perhaps one run a week.
    He is theatrical, though.

    gscottar –

The following are suspect to hold a place on the 40 man –

    Andrew Miller
    Justin Miller
    John Quesada
    Brandon Waddell
    T. J. Zuech

Can you make a good case that any of them should remain on the 40 man roster?

In 2015, here was the line of Peter Bourjos –
.200/.290/.333/.623. He was considered the best CF in MLB.
The Cards got rid of him, defense or not.

Bader’s last full season, 2019, he had the following line –
    .205/.314/.366/.680

This season, Bader has the following lines by month –

April – only played in 1 game
    May – .217/.304/.420/.724
    June – Hurt
    July – .357/.402/.619/1.021
    August – .152/.229/.192/.421

As I stated, BB, the above are only the position players. Here’s the WHIP of the various pitchers at Memphis for the year.

    Warner – 1.07
    Whitley – 1.13
    Ramirez – 1.17
    Rondon – 1.37
    Thomas – 1.40
    Woodford – 1.56
    Elledge – 1.86

Thank goodness McFarland and Gallegos kept them off the scoreboard. Big relief.
