Considering Harper’s first 7 years started at the age of 19 and Carp’s started at the age of 26 that in itself is a huge difference…..and as for War, right now Harper has Carp beat in career WAR as it is…..and he is 26!
I don’t like the 5 years at all. To scared to spend on Harper till Thst age but me problem spending on a 31 year old till he 36.
I hate the 3 batter min for pitchers just a STUPID change IMHO, sometimes you can tell a pitcher doesn’t have it and now you let the other team get to pound him for 3 hitters just STUPID!!!!
I know this is ONLY Spring training, but the Offense was a problem last year and looks like that hasn’t changed. This offseason most people knew the Cards needed to add to good to very good bats to the roster, but the FO went cheap and just landed one…will have to wait and see if the problem goes into normal games but doesn’t look good atm.
I think how the Cards handled Flaherty and Hicks contracts this year is going to come back to bite them in the rear, just a stupid move by the Front office, but nothing new there!
There was a zero percent chance the cards would have given Arenado anywhere near that much anyway they to cheap to sign super stars!
Another bad signing imho. They guy has one year proven in majors and that is it. Then they pay him till he is 35 but to scared to pay a super star till he is 36. This front office is full of morons.
Fowler should have to EARN his starting spot in RF in spring training and if he stinks in spring training he should not be GIVEN the starting spot during the season end of story.
Looks to me like he is telling us not to expect anything out of him at all this year….kind of like what everybody with brain cells expect…to bad the FO is brain DEAD!
mspaid, if we had the mound at 15inches we would not have baseball we would have strike out centeral like 27 a game and alot of 1-0, or 2-1 games and fans these days would say that is boring and stop watching and it would die off
Arenado is a pipe dream even if Col doesn’t sign him, the Cards FO has proved again this year to cheap to pay the $$ to get a Super Star in FA!
Rather been a 2-3 year ext, especially if the 5 years is AFTER this year, but will wait till something is done before i say my piece.
Cards wont be a player for Arenado, just like they NEVER EVER were real players fore Harper or Machado, they are to cheap!
Yup doesn’t matter Dewitt way to cheap to get either, he is ok with full stadium and missing post season over and over.
I agree with the thoughts that the Cards are cheap. It keeps showing year after year, there is always a so called EXCUSE for them not to spend a ton on a player.
Because it is easy to just make fun of somebody who was one of if not our best hitters last year…it is just stupid to call any of our players names, but he isn’t the only one here that does it, Rat is by far worst at it…it is childish at best.
Nice to see some teams continue to make their team better instead of sit on their hands and pretend bad things are sudden going to be good….
