Statcast Outs Above Average is the best metric for a player’s defense. Errors and Defensive Runs Saved rely on human subjectivity.
Donovan and Yepez were on the 40 man, Gorman is not. That is why they were promoted ahead of Gorman.
Dickerson’s .439 OPS isn’t much better than DeJong’s .403, and if he wasn’t on the team we’d have the roster space to promote Gorman.
If Dickerson doesn’t turn it around soon, he will be waived before DeJong.
What is keeping Gorman in the minors are the offseason additions of Dickerson and Pujols, not DeJong.
Edman was a shortstop in college and played it in the minors as well. I don’t question his defense there.
Gallegos struggled mightily two games in a row, blowing the game in the second one.
Helsley only needed six pitches in the 8th, then struck out all three in the 9th.
Their pitcher really walked all three, because pitch four to Yadi was outside. But I am sure Yadi is happier with the single.
Tonight’s dinner is Linguini Scampi e Vongole in a spicy red sauce.
Let’s hope the bats stay alive!!!
Dinner tonight was some wonderful Buffalo wings and fries. I had the honor of being the first customer.
Tonight’s game is looking to be a low scoring affair.
As for Nootbaar being sent down, it makes sense to get him some playing time. The disadvantage of going out and getting two “veteran” DH’s in the offseason.
Are they going to send Woodford down as well?
