April 24, 2022 at 1:14 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 14 thread – Sunday, April 24 at Reds #183261Cardinals down 2-0 after 1
Dinner today will be a Huaraches, which is carne asada, queso fresco, cilantro, onion & avocado on fried masa dough. Seasoned with squeezed lime and green salsa.
April 24, 2022 at 12:30 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 14 thread – Sunday, April 24 at Reds #183256PDJ’s $6 million salary this year shouldn’t be too sizable to force his way into the lineup, nor should his $9 million salary next year. It’s not like paying Carpenter $18 million per year, at all.
April 23, 2022 at 4:46 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 13 thread – Saturday, April 23 at Reds #183174Knizner is playing better than Yadi and that aren’t going to trade him with this being Yadi’s final year.
I would presume they told Yadi when he signed his contract that Knizner will be playing much more than our backups have in prior years.

April 23, 2022 at 4:09 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 13 thread – Saturday, April 23 at Reds #183162Lunch today was grilled swordfish, rice pilaf and black beans with an agave vanilla cream soda
I would guess McGreevy & Gracefo will get promoted somewhere between their 5th & 10th starts. They’ve had three so far.
April 21, 2022 at 7:40 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Thursday, April 21 at Marlins #182975At least Pujols is running up the pitch count.
April 21, 2022 at 7:26 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Thursday, April 21 at Marlins #182965Lopez was at 66 pitches after 4 innings, now 86 after 6. Our hitters are keeping him in the game.
April 21, 2022 at 6:56 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Thursday, April 21 at Marlins #182953Yes, our managers always seem to be challenged when it comes to statistics

April 21, 2022 at 6:52 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Thursday, April 21 at Marlins #182950Agreed. Farm raised 🦐 is not the answer.
Let’s see if our bullpen can keep us in the game. Mr Lopez is @ 66 pitches, maybe we can run up his pitch count next inning.
April 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 11 thread – Thursday, April 21 at Marlins #182936Pugs & CIF are taking this dinner game a little seriously. Any other night, their choices would be hands down winners. Pugs threw down the gauntlet with SMOKED salmon and is backing it up with shrimp cocktail. CIFs rabbit cacciatore sounds amazing. I’ll have to give it to Pugs for adding the shrimp 🍤 cocktail to a wonderful entree.
I am going to settle with pepperoni pizza and martinis.
As for lineup construction, if Marmol was chosen because he is going to use stats, he needs to start paying attention to them and batting Edman at lead off and Carlson further down in the order while they are both in their respective streaks.
April 20, 2022 at 8:08 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 10 thread – Wednesday, April 20 at Marlins #182874Coming into tonight, he’s had 5 plate appearances in three weeks. Hard to say he’s been “overmatched all year” when all year consists of 5 PAs.
Pugs, I believe Winn is a little too far away from the majors right now. Plus, they would have to add him to the 40 man and remove someone else.
Yes, with PDJ struggling, they need to start Sosa a couple of times per week.
And yes, with Carlson struggling and Edman hot, they need to be flipped in the order. Also need to start giving Nootbaar some starts.
April 19, 2022 at 8:42 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 9 thread – Tuesday, April 19 at Marlins #182813Yes, it is time to flip Edman & Carlson in the order.
Dinner tonight was Arroz con Mariscos (Peruvian seafood paella), Choros a la Chalaca (steamed mussels in spicy lime sauce with onions, tomato & cilantro) and beef & chicken empanadas
Yes, that is my issue with MLB, they reward teams that act to the detriment of the league and cry poverty to line their pockets rather than reward teams who punch above their weight.
St. Louis’ market size did not grow, they are still around 20th out of 30 teams. What changed is their revenue from their local TV deal.
Oakland is in the fifth largest market, and they restored revenue sharing for them after finally phasing it out a couple of years ago. It’s disgusting.
I have not heard of changes to the formula, but allegedly, it looks at market size, record and revenue.
April 17, 2022 at 12:55 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 8 thread – Sunday, April 17 at Brewers #182649I think Arenado likes it here, but they added that opt out for a reason.
April 17, 2022 at 12:54 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 8 thread – Sunday, April 17 at Brewers #182648Cardinals need to consider flipping Edman and Carlson in the order while Edman is hot & Carlson is struggling.
