If Tommy was still around I wonder if anyone would ask him what his opinion was on Kingman’s performance…Haha!

I’d say after tonight we are in full collapse! Wonder how long it will take before heads start to roll! Out attendance will crumple this year as we’ll!

Turner Ward is the “hitting” coach. I always wonder if the hitting coach and player look at situations and analyze what they are doing. I am sure they do, but they don’t show it. When Albert was with us in 2022 the camera picked him up in the dugout quite a bit with the tablet reviewing his mechanics and all.

I plan on going to a game in late July versus the Nationals. By then this might be a lot different team and maybe I will be able to sit about where ever I want – catch a foul ball or two even.

I think Pujols would make a good hitting coach. He always seemed to help players when he played and the teams seemed to hit better when he was present. I know some of that was the fear of facing him by other teams changed they way they pitched to hitters around him. However, you would always see him talking to other players about hitting.

There was a story the other day about how Trea Turner has fixed three of his teammates’ swings this year based on their chats in the batting cages and a little film.

Haven’t heard any such stories about Turner Ward.

By late July I will predict:

    Goldy is in Texas
    Nado is in LA
    Lynn is in Cleveland
    Gibson is in Minnesota
Kittredge is in New York as a Yankee
Rats is in Indiana watching Barnaby Jones
1TD is in St. Louis watching his grandson
Pugs is in Wisconsin planning his latest nuptial

ARENADO IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS WHEN YOU NEED A HIT!!!

Yeah, and they aren’t paying him to say what everybody already knows anyway. I am sure it was hugely motivating to everyone. Maybe he could try getting a hit when it matters.

Goldy has to start hitting for him to be traded.

The pitchers have to stay healthy and keep their ERA’s under 4.50.

Arenado does lead our club in RBI, but we do miss a lot of opportunities.

I would have had Siani try to bunt his way on here leading off the inning against a lefty. Not sure Ollie thinks that way.

After Winn’s over the shoulder/head catch, shouldn’t somebody have picked up his cap for him?

Arenado simply hasn’t had much of an impact as a Cardinal 3B’man.

Three lefties against the lefty and they did not get the ball out of the infield, and no one attempted to lay one down. Weak.

    This isn’t going well …

Until meaningful changes are made at the top – this just feels so hopeless.

I respectively disagree 1TD. Check out his 2022 season. He has had some stretches where he carried us for a couple of weeks.

Hammons field in Springfield is a lovely place to take in games. Nice town plenty of reasonable lodging and dining. You can go down and take in Friday night game. Stay thru Sunday afternoon game. It will cost you less than good seats for one game, parking, and concessions at Busch. And it’s fun. Busch isn’t fun.

That is two really crappy throws down to second by Pages tonight.

We know he can’t hit at this level but I thought he was supposed to be a good catcher??

Hey, that’s a thought. Maybe I head there instead. I will be road tripping, coming back after a couple of days in Cleveland at the National Sports Collectors Convention. My plan is to head to the Lou and catch the Cards-Nats game that last weekend in July.

But maybe I veer a little north and check out Springfield, if they are home that weekend.

I read an article the other day pointing out what others have said here. We fail to swing at too many pitches in the hitting zones, we seem to struggle on the 4 seam fastball which is a common pitch, and when we do make contact, our exit velocity is about the worst in baseball. Just horrible.

Does not surprise me as in watching our games and others, it seems we consistently let more good pitches go by than most other teams. Goldy is worst at that, or seems to be. So many times it looks like he has a pitch to drive and lets it go, then swings at something off the plate.

    Just another throw away game.

Just remember – even 100 loss teams will celebrate 62 victories…
