what like venison, but greasy like pork shoulder steak, or moreso. The lamb like in the store is much milder and somewhat less greasy. Yearling, or mutton, is for manly men.

Do you have some mint jelly for it?

Gibson sets them down in order in the bottom of the 2nd.

Anyone seen JJ, TD, ZTR, LACardFan or Euro? They must be out on the town partying.

Donovan fails to advance the runner to 3rd with less than two out. Situational hitting fail.

Noot takes a strike three, so now it takes a two out hit to get anything out of two leadoff singles. And Goldy takes strike one as per his usual. And he strikes out, big surprise.

We get the first 2 batters on base to open the 3rd and then come up empty once again….lowlighted by Nooty and Goldy striking out. That’s now 0-14 with runners in scoring position in this series for our boys.

I have a few tasks to attend to. Check back later. Good luck.

Good luck alone won’t do it for our boys, Bling. With this group, more things are going to have to come together in brilliant fashion for us to win. Right now this team is looking like the 1962 Mets….with their 40-120 record.

Pitch recognition is obviously an issue.

Goldschmidt’s slump might be the worst I have ever seen. Now back in the day we did not watch every game, so things were not in front of you in living color like today. But man, I am not sure anyone has fallen so far as Goldy has right now.

Seems like even Allen Craig, when he struggled after a really good year, hit like .240 or so. He eventually fell off the table and could not even hit in the minors. Goldy again let a hittable pitch to, then on 0-1 couldn’t catch up to a fastball. That first pitch was the one to hit.

By the way Bling you are 100% wrong about Mutton and lamb. Lamb is < a year old. Mutton is 2 years or more old.

Pugs, I am following along on my phone while sitting at the Springfield game at NW AR. The AA Birds trailing 5-2 right now. Antico with a HR and great catch but Bedell getting hit hard.

If the Brewers get just one run, that may be enough for Peralta and their pen.

Sounds like fun, Scotty! No rain out there in NW Arkansas? Those 2 runs you witnessed are a heck of a lot more than what we’ll see here tonight……hope I’m wrong! Root them on to a come-from-behind victory.

With the bases juiced and 2 out, the Brewers get their run on a hit batsman by Gibson. Crew get just the one tally…..1-0 heading to the 4th.

Just here Pugs. Wifey, I and grandson back from putting 700 rounds downrange. Topped it off with a stop at Buffalo Wild Wings for a big lunch. Time in a bottle.

KCB advised me about maybe taking in a Springfield game in late July as I will be road tripping it back from Cleveland. I checked the schedule and Springfield is home that weekend. Original plan was to come back through the Lou and catch the Cards-Nats game. But now I am leaning towards Springfield.

The pitches were starting to mount a bit for Peralta, but then it takes a mere 8 pitches for him to dispatch our Cards in the 4th……54 Peralta pitches.

Pugs, I skipped the party. Didn’t want to miss out on the Cardinals’ offensive fireworks tonight. Just tuned in and it looks like the 3rd inning could’ve been worse.

Love Buffalo Wild Wings, JJ……sounds like a heck of a Saturday! Where in the Cleveland area will you be, BicycleMike.

Hey Euro. The 3rd could have buried us. I thought for sure that Hoskins was going to whack a granny to put this game on ice for them. This Gibson fellow we have is pretty darn good. What a shame to waste this decent pitching. Our hitters should be ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done……or what they haven’t done this year.

Gonna hit the Rock and Roll museum, and a Guardians game. Then will spend two days at the National Sports Collectors Convention at the IX Center. I think our hotel is sort of near there – my cousin’s son-in-law set up the hotel as he gets some sort of discount.

Oh, and before that I am going to Pittsburgh and will take in a game between our club and the Pirates.

I would stay out in the eastern suburbs, BicycleMike. Some real pretty areas out there. Sounds like a great road trip you have planned. Wifey staying at home for this one?

Cardinals have one hitter with an OPS above .700 – just barely right now.

Brewers only have two hitters with OPS’ below .700
