I prefer the old Springfield side because I knew it growing up, Mike. The location of Hammons Field has that days gone by feel. The setting is ideal.

Thanks Pugs. Yep, the wifey is staying home. I will be batchin’ it you could say. She is real happy I am doing this – thinks I will have a lot of fun. Maybe she is looking forward to it as much as me as she can spend a week with her boyfriend. 😅

Kidding folks – we joke about that kind of thing now and then but are both fully committed and would never compromise our relationship.

Carp with a leadoff 5th inning 2-bagger…..and I was just going to say that Carp has two chances to get a hit here vs Peralta……slim and none and Slim just rode off into the Lake Michigan sunset…..but I guess the sun would actually be setting in the west and not the east wouldn’t it.

Believe it or not, I have never been tempted to try a single bite of lamb or sheep.

Pugs, you never went to Greektown in Chicago?

A hit with the sacks full!! Holy cow! Now let’s see what Goldy does. Maybe he can relax a bit.

How many rallies has Goldschmidt killed this year? Seriously, they need to just tell him to take a few weeks off and clear his head.

Had me worried you were doing the Fritz Peterson- Mike Kekich thing for a second there, BicycleMike. Sounds like a heck of a trip…..don’t pick up any hitch hikers though……which brings up a very long story, but I’ll keep it short. When I graduated high school my parents moved from Chagrin Falls, Ohio and I stayed with my best friend for the summer. Anyway that summer I tried like heck to get my buddy to do a once in a lifetime hitch hiking expedition…..but he wouldn’t go. My parents would have never allowed it(yes I know I was 18), but since I wasn’t with them I took it upon myself to hitchhike from Cleveland to the east coast and then up and down the eastern seaboard. A zillion great stories regarding this trip, but to make a long story short, I was gone for 2 weeks and amazingly met no weirdos on the entire journey. Got picked up in the Baltimore area by a cameraman for the Baltimore Colts…..met a pretty girl my age. Coming back to Cleveland I spent a couple days in the Pocono Mountains, which were amazing. Back to baseball. 2-1 Cards

Think I would go with a platoon for awhile and play Burly versus righties and Goldy versus lefties. Try it for a couple of weeks and see if Goldy can find some success.

Great adventure Pugs!! I am a road trip guy from way back. Did all kinds of auto travelling in my 20s and 30s. Had a conversion van in the late ‘70s & into the ‘80s and would camp out in it at rest stops and KOAs and places like that.

Pugs, you never went to Greektown in Chicago?

Didn’t even know it existed, LACardfan. Just something about eating lamb or deer……just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe it’s because they are such peaceful animals?…..no it can’t be that, as cows are about as peaceful and mellow as you can get…..I’ve seen many angry snarling bulls, but never an angry cow…..they are beautiful creatures.

Pugs, if you refuse to go to Chicago, I understand. Milwaukee has a large Greek population as well, and many fine Greek restaurants.

It’s hard to find dishes that don’t use lamb on a Greek menu.

Yeah I’m not keen on wrestling with that Chicago traffic anymore, LACardFan, but you have me convinced that maybe I do need to at least try lamb. This week I’m trying it at a restaurant…..as I don’t trust my cooking with it.

Thanks JJ on the Hammonds Field comment. Leaning towards doing that rather than going to St. Louis.

    Gorman starting to make contact.
