These position players are weak mentally and soft. The team last year as a whole was the same.
Carpenter and Crawford need to be released because it’s clear this veteran leadership that was wanted by guys like NA and PG isn’t helping. I’m tired of watching this crap!
Fire whatever 2 coaches you’d like. We all know Oli isn’t going anywhere.
May 9, 2024 at 8:57 pm #251482BikeMike-Do it. Everything’s close to the stadium. Parking is across the street. I walk a couple blocks and don’t pay. I’m not a drinker so I don’t know beer prices, but everything else is comparatively inexpensive. If my memory serves me $20 gets you a good seat. We moved down right behind d the dugout every game. It’s so close you can here the players and coaches interacting. I like that.
May 9, 2024 at 8:58 pm #251483The broadcast has Viera’s name misspelled. 😀
May 9, 2024 at 9:00 pm #251484Just might do that KCB. Haven’t been to a minor league game in years. I will check out the route from Cleveland and give it serious consideration – oh, and the schedule as well to see if they are even home that weekend.
May 9, 2024 at 9:01 pm #251485Burleson handles those low throws pretty well.
May 9, 2024 at 9:01 pm #251486Arenado has had one really good year here but overall he has not lived up to the hype in my opinion. Of course you could say that about just the whole team the last couple of years.
That’s a good list bikemike. Two more I would add are that by late July both Mo and Oli will be celebrating brand new three year extensions. Might as well keep a good thing going.
May 9, 2024 at 9:03 pm #251487Man, Royceoft is a horse! Nice, quick inning. Could he be a latter day Todd Worrell?
May 9, 2024 at 9:06 pm #251488Wasted a leadoff double in the 8th. Next two guys, Burleson and Gorman couldn’t even put the ball in play. It’s seems like opposing pitchers know where their bat is going to be and put the ball somewhere else.

Now that’s funny! Good one g!!
Yeah, Arenado came to us just past his true prime. Had you watched him out here you would have really been impressed. He made plays that took you back to Brooks Robinson, if you ever saw him.
Still it was a great deal Mo made as none of the guys we gave up have done anything. And Nado has given us one of the best third baseman in his time here, although he is in the latter half of a very good career.
May 9, 2024 at 9:07 pm #251490Looks like another season about to be flushed. When do we admit, this ain’t working?
May 9, 2024 at 9:09 pm #251491Noot needs a six run homer.
May 9, 2024 at 9:10 pm #251492A routine 7-1 loss. That’s how it goes when you have a good club play a last place team in their park.
May 9, 2024 at 9:11 pm #251493Mo and Marmol are killing the franchise.
May 9, 2024 at 9:11 pm #2514947-1 counts as a trouncing. We got trounced.
May 9, 2024 at 9:12 pm #251495If this series goes 3-1 Brewers or worse, you really have to be looking at making changes well before the traditional mid-season deadline.
May 9, 2024 at 9:13 pm #251496It’s official. Bill and MO have killed the Golden goose. The Cardinals are not competitive or entertaining. Only sick people like me will continue to subject themselves to the abuse. Casual fans will be leaving in droves. It took 2 years. It will take much longer to bring them back. Bill gonna be mad.
May 9, 2024 at 9:14 pm #251497Yeah, they pounced on the Cardinals best SP’er in the 1st inning to make a loud and clear statement that says the order of the NLC standings are no fluke.
May 9, 2024 at 9:15 pm #251499Haha!…”Bill gonna be mad.”
May 9, 2024 at 9:15 pm #251500It was already 7-1, Royceoft wasn’t facing really focused batters…
Let’s see him do it when it matters.
May 9, 2024 at 9:18 pm #251502Dysfunctional operation. I don’t think putting a young, inexperienced manager at the helm of a team lead by veterans has worked. Now I will say it seemed good in 2022, but we had three guys have stellar seasons that year. Now one of those guys is gone, one has slipped some, and the other has slipped a lot.
Need to get younger and more athletic. And be realistic – stop with the “leadership” and “get rid of the guys that aren’t committed” nonsense.
May 9, 2024 at 9:19 pm #251504Well, it mattered but I agree that a 6 run lead is a nice bankroll to work with.
May 9, 2024 at 9:20 pm #251505Some might argue that our angst is nothing but a knee-jerk reaction to a loss. But remember, this has been going on for how long now?????
May 9, 2024 at 9:22 pm #251506Yeah, but how do you do that when 2024 is just getting started.
The starting rotation is ancient.
The young position players are mostly bad with Winn being good in the field at SS but average at the plate.
2023 was awful and 2024 looks to be just as awful with really nothing being accomplished.
There is no plan, there is nothing to build on or around at this point.
May 9, 2024 at 9:31 pm #251508I happen to think that this team will never come close to being competitive with the current manager in place. I don’t think most of the players on this team respect him or trust him. I also think this organization is establishing a bad reputation around the league. It started a couple of years ago and has continued unabated to this point in time.
May 9, 2024 at 10:45 pm #251510If only it were as simple as just replacing Marmol….this team and this organizations issues run way deeper.
