What was really bad about the pitiful Thursday night game was that Front Row Amy was not in attendance. Where is she when you need her???

Din-din for this Friday will not be CCFF. For the uninformed that’s Cardinal Catfish Fiddler Friday. Instead it will be a Hungry Man’s Turkey TV dinner. Along with a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream.

I will probably miss at least half of this game. I will be down in Jasper for the big rival game between the Southridge Raiders and the Jasper Wildcats. Southridge is the school where Colson Montgomery, the WhiteSox #1 prospect, hails from.

And cheer up guys, if we lose all of these to Milwaukee it might be the last we will see of Marmol. And the sooner we see of some others the better as well.

    It’s not Marmol – it’s Mo,

As long as he’s calling the shots the rebuild cannot even begin.

We are all in baseball purgatory until Mo hits the bricks.

After that – whenever that happens – New Guy will have to come and put his people and his plan in place.

I’m afraid it may be quite awhile before the Cardinals are a WS contender.

TBA vs TBA. I don’t know when or where I’ve seen that before? Maybe we’ll have to check with our old pal, Skippy and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau, to see the last time our Cards had a TBA vs TBA posted on game day. Hey Rat, two things; Front Row Amy was in attendance last night. She was situated with another couple about 5 rows in back of the Milwaukee dugout with a young couple. If FRA ( Front Row Amy ) is sitting in her usual seat when I’m there on Saturday, I’ll ask her why she sitting over there and then I’ll get back to you. And why no Friday Fiddlers tonight, Rat? It’s a tradition worth carrying on. Maybe a couple of our posters can pick up the slack and indulge in a steaming hot plate of Catfish Fiddlers tonight…..I know I’m having some. Oh, and your Jasper Wildcats are going to get absolutely spanked by that upstart Raiders club out of Southridge, Rat. In that league you have to have the horses to compete. And trust me when I say that the Southridge stable is teeming with thoroughbreds just chomping at the bit to kick a little sand in the face of any Jasper Wildcat in their vicinity. Let’s call it 13-3 Southridge shall we?

Relax guys. I just saw where Matt Carpenter might be rejoining the team for Saturday’s game. We are about to go on a big time winning streak.

Pugs? Jasper will be Southridge. Jasper is 17-5 and Southridge is 12-8. Granted it is a big rival game as the towns of Jasper and Huntingburg are only several miles apart. But you can bank on this one going to the Wildcats.

It’s my guess that a significant change is in the works and will be put into place prior to the Cardinals returning to StL. for their homestand vs. BOS, BAL, and the Cubs.

Getting Matt Carpenter back is like a trade….right? lol

Wonder if Mo understands most are no longer buying BS lines like this any longer?

I hated the Carp signing but after this dreadful start of the season I relish the thought of seeing him hit. Team cannot get any worse than they are, which rock bottom.

    From MLBTR:

the trio of Goldschmidt, Nolan Gorman and Dylan Carlson have astonishingly combined to go 0-for-48 since the calendar flipped to May.

Wow, May 10 and no hits from the trio of Goldy, Gorman and Dylan? 0 for 48?! Seems almost impossible. You would think even a poorly hit ball would have blooped in somewhere.

Well on the bright side the cards were 12 games under .500 on May 10 last year, so with them being only 7 games under 500 May 10 this year Maybe that is the type of improvement ownership is looking for.

    As for crazy stats

Goldschmidt has 5 xtra base hits…since the season started

That 0-48 from our big sticks has to be a typo. I know they’ve been a pretty lame trio, but 0-48 at the professional level is just insane. The worst ML batter of all time(Giants pitcher Ron Hrbel) wouldn’t or couldn’t go 0-48. Heck trot our very own Bling up to the plate 48 times and I guarantee you that he has at least one humpback wounded duck pop fly fall in there for a hit.

Southridge does indeed defeat Jasper today, Rat…….and it should be with relative ease.

Gorman and Carlson learned how to launch minor league fastballs. They should be given the opportunity to show off their skills. Goldy just got old and went over a cliff similar to how Carp did. To his credit he didn’t go over it 30 seconds after signing a big contract. The guy who did that was hired back for veteran leadership.

Lynn, a seasoned veteran having a decent year, versus a nobody that struggles to get minor leaguers out. All other factors being equal, we should be heavy favorites. However, all other factors aren’t equal……

    Bling?
Gorman and Carlson should be given the opportunity? Gorman is in his 3rd year. Carlson is in his 5th year. It’s time to sh~t or get off the pot.

In my mind, Winn is the only off-limits player on this team with regards to a trade. And I still say that teams are pitching him up in the zone and getting him out. I don’t care what some chart or graph or anal-ytic says, they are getting him out by pitching him up.

No question that the 0 for 48 from those 3 names is a sad state of affairs. Carlson hasn’t even reached base since he was activated.

Goldy 0 for 23 Gorman 0 for 14 Carlson 0 for 11. Gorman needs to go to Memphis and figure it out. The sooner he goes down the better. Carlson I don’t know what else to do with him. Goldy I would check his overall physical health and his eyesight. AT this point trying anything with Goldy there has to be a reason he has been beyond bad and that can’t be just age related it must something else.
