Saggese drives in Gorman to make it 6-4 Cardinals.
August 25, 2025 at 8:20 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #132 thread – Monday, August 25 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #291319Gorman now up to .750 OPS. Cardinals take the lead 5-4.
August 25, 2025 at 7:30 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #132 thread – Monday, August 25 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #291305Church is playing in his 6th ML game. He has 2 hits, scored 5 runs and has 5 RBI. I want to see him start quite a few games and see if he can do it in the majors. I’m OK with his start, so far.
Another throwing error by Gorman on Monday, August 28.
When is this? GameDay doesn’t show a ball hit to Gorman, yet. And it’s not the 28th, yet.
August 25, 2025 at 12:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #132 thread – Monday, August 25 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates #291274Or does he mean under 20,000 for the entire series?
August 24, 2025 at 1:17 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2024-2026 #291223How many of those “kids” do they hurt their development by bringing them up too early. Haven’t we already done that with Gorman and Walker. I agree that we could replace Contreras and Arenado with what the Cardinals already have but they don’t have enough starting pitchers ready to replace Gray, also.
August 18, 2025 at 8:13 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #126 thread – Monday, August 18 at Miami Marlins #290875I’m hoping Gorman can build up his trade value in the remainder of the season. If he becomes a great hitter elsewhere, I’m fine with that as long as we get a good return for him.
August 18, 2025 at 5:59 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #126 thread – Monday, August 18 at Miami Marlins #290850Liberatore is not missing too many bats. 3 batters and 3 hard hit balls. Already 1-0 Marlins.
August 18, 2025 at 5:53 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #126 thread – Monday, August 18 at Miami Marlins #290846Marlins give the Cardinals an extra out here in the first inning but Winn can’t take advantage.
1td, Arenado taking the rest of the season off would be the same as trading him. The Cardinals may have to pay him about the same amount whether he is on the Cardinals or another team.
Mud, you don’t think Wetherholt can play 3B?
August 17, 2025 at 3:36 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #125 thread – Sunday, August 17 vs. New York Yankees #290735KCB, it sounds like Church is really good, defensively, as well. He does have a strong arm, obviously.
August 17, 2025 at 3:25 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #125 thread – Sunday, August 17 vs. New York Yankees #290731Church has hit the ball hard all 3 times. He seems to have a quick bat and makes solid contact. I would like to see more of him.

August 16, 2025 at 7:15 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #124 thread – Saturday, August 16 vs. New York Yankees #290654Winn with a big HR.
Scott almost makes a highlight reel catch on the Judge home run.
I think Wetherholt ends up hitting third in the order in about 3 years.
I am going to guess the opening day lineup in 2028 starts out:
Church CF
Winn SS
Wetherholt 3B
Jordan 1B
Herrera DH
Walker RFI’m not sure what will play out at 2B, C, and LF. I also predict that will be a tough first 6.
August 11, 2025 at 8:34 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290323Gorman deserved an error on the bunt throw. However, Contreras didn’t help by already being anchored with his feet on first and not being able to attempt to knock the throw down.
August 11, 2025 at 8:31 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290322Rats, the Cardinals are hitting .280 in this game as a team.
August 11, 2025 at 8:09 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290317Walker did a good job to keep the Rockie to a single.
August 11, 2025 at 7:40 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290311While the stadium is definitely empty, it does seem like there are more fans at the game then there was early in the season. However, that may be due to summer.
August 11, 2025 at 7:35 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290310I have felt that Wilson’s stretch for throws at first is by far his biggest weakness.
August 11, 2025 at 7:15 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #120 thread – Monday, August 11 vs. Colorado Rockies #290306If they call that throw by Gorman an error, that’s too bad. Goldschmidt would have had that throw while still on the bag and made it look easy.
Wetherholt since August 1: .231 BA and .731 OPS. That is about 1/3 of his time in AAA. He may need a couple of months, at least, at AAA next year.
Do they get paid during a lockout? During a strike, I understand.
Could DeWitt just be setting the team up for a work stoppage in the next Labor negotiations? If not, it seems that the team will need to sign at least 1 starting pitcher and start to upgrade the lineup.
