According to the Doppler radar there is a storm front coming in from the NW towards the St. Louis area. There’s a chance it could impact tonight’s game. It does look all clear for first pitch and perhaps the first few innings. After that we will just have to see. The forecast here for SW Indiana is for a good chance of rain starting around midnight as the front heads towards the southeast.
I hope the rain doesn’t impact my DirecTV reception. Late tonight there are new episodes of Beavis & Butthead on Comedy Central. I’d hate to miss that.

Anyone have an opinion regarding the comments made by Marmol and B. Brown yesterday regarding their unhappiness with Jordan Walker for not incorporating their hitting recommendations? I find it interesting they would discuss it publicly. I’m assuming it is a last ditch effort to light a fire under him.
As the team goes, so do these game threads. I haven’t seen it this quiet around here since the ’75 campaign. The Jays have already whacked 5 homers through the first 5 innings of their game tonight. It very well may take us until next Tuesday to hit 5 dingers.
Cards get on the board with a Contreras bloop 2 run single. Liberatore looks good but has a high pitch count through 4 innings.
Lib looks like all the A’s big brother. Gorman defense evolving at third. I think he’s gonna be the starter there next year. He’s been much better the last week. I wish Walker would do something better. I don’t like the locker room stuff hitting the news. All those guys need to go. Liam Doyle pitching Saturday in Palm Beach. Im usually off on Wednesday but had to work today. I had leftovers for dinner. I like leftovers. That is aĺl.
I’m not watching the game. GameDay says there was an injury delay when Liberatore came out of the game. What is the deal with that?
Unfortunately I was having to deal with my dog and missed the top of the 6th so have no info on a possible injury. Announcers haven’t mentioned it.
Gorman and Kurtz trade homeruns so 3-1 top of eighth.Cards tally 2 more in the eighth thanks to a catcher/1B trying to play left field. 5-1 heading to the 9th.
That was an entertaining ball game. Two struggling ball clubs, but for Cardinal fans it was worth the price of admission.
A win is a win, but poor outfield play in the corners by the As cost them four runs.
osuagec, Kyle and I discussed the Walker comments by Brant Brown in our podcast posted earlier today.
Nice seeing Gorman get off the proverbial schneid, going 3-3 with a towering tater. Maybe the Cardinal brass should be willing to let bygones be bygones and go into battle one more season with Gorman. He’s the type of player that you endure misery and torment for years trying to bring out his full potential………only to finally trade the guy and then he immediately figures it all out and is a perennial star.
Those Pirates have sure been a feisty bunch as they once again defeated the Dodgers tonight 3-0…….it’s Pittsburgh’s 17th shutout on the year, which leads all of baseball. I wish we had half as many shutouts. Kind of amazing that a team with such a poor record could lead all of baseball in pitched shutouts.
I saw a headline for this game that read, “Liberatore dazzles, earns 1st win since June.” That sums it up.
Pugs, Gorman shrank his strike zone this season, the proof is in his BB%. The first fallout is “you’re late”, on everything. Too much thinking on the edges when you used to be swinging.
Getting familiarity of a smaller zone, until your takes are automatic again, just takes repetitions. Once the “takes” are locked in, your timing trigger magically reappears.
