I think this is a game where we’ll see Jimmy Lee Crooks finally get off the proverbial schneid and register a couple extra base hits. But unfortunately the rookie’s efforts won’t be enough, as the Giants win this one going away 8-4.
And what’s on the din-din docket on this fine Tuesday evening one may ask? It was Stouffer’s creamed chipped beef over 2 pieces of white toast. The main entrée was accompanied by cottage cheese with pepper on top, pineapple slices and then a trip on over to Popeye’s drive thru lane for dessert to grab 3 apple cinnamon pies. As we speak, those 3 scrumptious apple cinnamon pies are sitting on plate right in front of me……and I’m torn on what to do…eat them as is, which is always a stone cold winner, or jazz them up a bit by gracing their tops with some Breyer’s ice cream. There’s just one problem. The only flavor I have on hand right now is chocolate-peanut butter and I’m not sure how those two will inter-mingle? You know……I’m going for it. Go Cards!
Some of those Stouffers meals are pretty good. Especially the two serving size lasagna. I used to like some of the Marie Callender meals too, but I’ve found that both the quality and the quantity has taken a nose dive. I quit buying those a couple of years ago. It’s a shame too because they used to be first rate.
I had some Dierberg’s deli prepared SW style mini chicken burritos with Chili Man brand no bean chili ladled on the plate and topped with plenty of shredded longhorn cheddar and onions along with Santitas brand yellow corn tortilla chips with Red Gold brand salsa. I feel okay right now, but I’ve got an industrial grade fire extinguisher handy just in case…
The Reds trail the Pirates by a score of 4-2 in the home half of the 7th at GABP while the Mets trail the Cubbies by a score of 5-1 in the 4th. Who wants it? Might be the Dbacks who play the Dodgers later tonight in AZ.
If I’m a Reds fan and the last place Bucs dash my hopes for the ’25 season, I’m probably going to be in danger of damaging an end table lamp…
Tonight’s game features two teams with identical W/L records who are both gasping their last breath at 3.5 games off the pace for the final NLWC berth. It ought to be a genuine dogfight out in SF…Or, maybe not.
I also happened to notice that both the Marlins and the Braves are 9-1 in their last 10 games. That’ll give the under assistant west coast promo men in the marketing department for both of those teams something to tout for next season. Sound familiar?
And the Reds blow themselves out. They lose to the Pirates 4-2 at Crosley Field tonight.
And the Mets storm back from a 6-1 deficit and have tied the Cubs 6-6. Top of the 6th now at Wrigley.
Doyers and DBacks coming up.
Pallante playing with fire now with no outs and bases loaded in the bottom of the 3rd. In his defense, he struck out Koss looking but it was called ball 4. Could have used one of those new challenges there.
And a ground ball to Nado brings in 2 as he hits the runner going home on the backside and the ball gets away. 3-2 Cards.
And now Pallante is finished for the night with about 1000 pitches to get through 2 2/3 innings. 4-3 Giants.

And you can trust the cleanliness of their products, TD. I took a tour of their plant in beautiful Solon, Ohio about 30 years ago and I swear you could eat off the floor in almost every inch of their facility. As a quick aside, Solon, Ohio was the boyhood home of Sal and Chris Bando……and about 20 minutes from Solon, in South Euclid, Steve Stone grew up…….oh boy lookie here ……homers by Herrera and Arenado here in the 7th have put the Cards within a run of knotting this up at 8.

Cardinals keep trying to ruin their draft position by keeping their faint playoff hopes alive. Win 9-8 by scoring 2 runs in the 9th.
The Cards are going to find a way to finish .500 or better, it seems. Would be nice for their draft position to lose a few. But there’s not much you can do about that…the players are gonna play.

Well, that is far from assured. They would have to win out, 4-0, to get to 82 wins and a winning record. 3-1 would get them to .500.
Atlanta has suddenly won 10 in a row, the Marlins 7 in a row, and the Diamondbacks and Cardinals 3 in a row to tighten up the middle of the National League. In the meantime, 5 L’s in a row flying for Wrigley Field.
Over in the American League, the Tigers and Rangers have suddenly dropped 7 and 8 in a row respectively.
