Mikolas made his money, I could see him cutting his handicap in half this summer instead.

Rockies need starters, Cards have several to help them rebuild…
Rockies get: Pallante, Hansen and Rajcic. They could possibly, and sadly, be their 3 best SPers
Cards get: Comp round overall pick #37 as of today

Not enough from the Cards for that pick?

They have hired all of these minor-league coaches, instructors, etc. did they hire a Director of throw strikes and stop walking so many guys?

    Bregman signs
    Suarez signs
    Arenado traded

I don’t see how it doesn’t happen in that exact order

With Pallante slated to make $3-4M in 2026 then two more years of arbitration, I’m surprised there has been zero mention of moving him to be a 5th SP somewhere else.

They wouldn’t get anything of significance back, but even a little international draft pool money could make sense, or a very low level guy.

He’s maybe the type that could be a ST flip of a contender has someone go down. He could be worth the money, just not for the Cardinals.

I want Curtis Taylor as well C27. Better than a guy like Mikolas, and they are going to need more innings.

Good ideas C27, I always liked both of them. As has been mentioned before, the biggest advantage the Cards can offer is guranteed starting innings to rebuild their careers.

Márquez was just shy of a run per inning better on the road.
Gray’s, when just glancing at a few years, wasn’t as extreme.

What would a fair contract look like for Márquez? IP bonuses might be nice incentive for a guy like him. Then if traded the acquiring team could be in the hook for those.

I still like and would expect at least Sloan. OR Donnie, Noot, Jojo and Tommy E can be teammates….

Harmony knows Sloan is a much much better prospect or wouldn’t be trying to offload Cjintje on a twice per post basis.

My daily trade proposal: Donnie, Jojo AND Noot
    For:
-Emil Morales, the GDP…. grand Donnie prize, probably the 3B in 2029. IF version of Rainiel
-River Ryan, mid-late 26 rotation option, great upside and has actually shown results
    – Teoscar Hernandez – The RHH corner OFer the Cards need to win 63 games in 2026. Dodgers cover $5.553 in 2026 and $7.33 in 2027, which actually saves them a ton of money (luxury tax # for him is just above $19M x 2 = $38M x roughly 100% = $76M – $26.7 paid by Cards is about $50m saved out of pocket. 2028 B/O is the Cards option to take it or move on.

Sort of shocking how little (54m isn’t to us) Imai got! Good move for Houston looking at it with little knowledge on the guy.

We do not want Cjente Harmony, AND Seattle media, give that nonsense up! Sloan or he’s a Dodger!

Walker Buehler is another possible option, if he is at a VERY reasonable price tag.

If he stays healthy, great…. deadline chip, if not, cut bait. Or put him in the pen, a lot of variables and scenarios would be in play.

They still need about 125 innings from SPers.

Happy NYE Pads, a friendly agree to disagree because I look at 2028 as the Cards window opening for contention. By then Bernal will surely be ready to switch hit his way into the starting position and bring his MILB gold glove with him.

Crooks value is likely not going to get any higher so cashing in now seems smartest/safest to me. No clue why, but I see Philly as a fit if Realmuto leaves.

Or a team like the Dodgers or Mariners who have star catchers already who I’d have to guess they would like to give a few extra days a week off to DH.

Looking at the Gray and Contreras trades after a few knee jerk reactions, I’m giving Bloom a very solid A.

In 12 months I’d bet two wooden nickel’s that Fajardo is ranked ahead of Clarke. I’m not at all down on Clarke, but at 18 and he’s already pitched great in A ball, that’s exciting. If they were in the draft tomorrow, Fajardo would easily be a 1st rounder and Clarke a top 50 pick.

Well played Mr. Bloom, now get Donnie+ done for Emil Morales and River Ryan and I’ll stop wishing for Dombrowski.

Herrera catching 50-60 games work, but I like him in LF or 1B just to keep him healthy and in every lineup.

On the same note for 2026, Leo and RR should be in the field on “DH” days.

Not maximizing a very good prospects value in trade is how the Cardinals ended up in this bad situation. Holding Crooks, Donnie, Jojo and Noot is beyond foolish.

Harmony, so the Mariners will always be the bridesmaid and never the bride in October
    ?
They do need to give a little to get anything good back….
They would still stay under their made up number.

Harmony, happy holidays 1st off. Obviously is the answer, so Sloan and Arroyo for Donnie and Arenado, Arenado being paid down to 5m a year? Cheaper than Suarez…. We will even throw in Pages to back up your 60HR man.

Bregman/Boras are really holding things up once again.

Mud, can Jojo and Donnie just shack up with Arenado in 2026? Or just carpool with Edman?

Great news guys! I finally found a solution for Arenado…. Angels need a CFer

Angels get Arenado and Church, Cards eat 10 in 26 and 5 in 27. aka they pay $20m for $50m in jersey sales
Cards get Chase Shores and international draft $

    Call it in fellas!

Forsch, very slow time of year… click bate..
0.0 percent chance that was ever discussed or on the table.
I like Morales even more than Montes actually, that trade could be CB’s defining moment when kids look back on it in 25 years.

Cards get: Ryan, Morales and Wagner
Dodgers get: Donnie, Jojo, Jimmy Crooks(Will Smith isn’t young and needs a few days off)

I’d throw in Jojo actually to get that done. Morales is the Dodgers Rainiel Rodriguez. Him staying at SS is highly unknown, but the Cards need a 3B in 2028-2035 right?

If the Dodgers offered Morales and Ryan alone, De-lost-his-wallet should fly Donnie out there on his own jet.

I wouldn’t do Donnie for Bello. The upside isn’t there and two years of his four left on his deal are essentially wasted.

I don’t agree that TKRob is in the same boat as Markavian.
TKRob with the time off/rehabbing can fully, versus rushing back, let the shoulder heal this time. Then with the new elbow, could be huge for his success the next decade. He was pitching like a top of the rotation prospect before the TJS.
Hence just seems to strain or pull random parts. To be able to be a difference maker for the St Louis Cardinals, putting him in relief is the best bet to get positive value out of him. (See Reyes, Alex)
By 2028, the contention window opens and he could be a top closer after getting some experience at the back end of the pen.

ZTR, that’s the way I understand it. My question would be why couldn’t they make the stitching “heights” basically equal even if the leather and how it’s “wound/hardness” is a bit different? You’d think there could be a closer medium on the stitching in this day and age. If we can put a man on the moon 59 years ago they could surely figure that one out!
