Is there a printable list of the top 100-200 draft prospects out there somewhere? Some are hard to print due to formatting, and/or print out too many pages.

I think if we make trades before the deadline we should target relievers. Not that we don’t need better starters. Relievers may be easier to come by. Particularly we need lefties out of the pen.

I think we can make trades if we get a good offer.

Wow, I did not realize how poorly our bullpen prospects have been doing. Only Rajcic, Druessen, Gastelum and Burns have put up numbers worthy of mention. I would add Findlay and Galle also as they have done well at lower levels before getting hit harder after a promotion. Burns is injured, and Racjic got promoted. So that leaves Gastelum and possibly Rincon (who has pitched well recently) as a candidate for the STL bullpen. The others are far away from the bigs. I guess I’ll have to retract cutting Blewitt. The only other option is moving starters to relief, which is a last option.

I just believe, as you said, Blewitt won’t help the big league club. His lifetime numbers are not good. He gave up 2 homers and 4 runs tonight. In what was a tie game became a 4 run deficit.

I just don’t see a need for keeping Blewitt around. I know veterans are needed, but he has lived up to his last more than occasionally. I would seriously look at Findlay. The Redbirds could use a lefty reliever.

It’s great to see Mathews change his pitch mixture. I hope it leads to better control and command.

Cinjtje was outstanding tonight. 6 innings, 9 Ks, no runs. Molina struck out 8, but battled back after giving up a homer.

It will be interesting to see which pitchers are at what levels by next year. Molina, Mautz, Roby, Mathews, Fitts, Dobbins, Henderson, Hjerpe, Fajardo, Doyle, Davis, Franklin, Cinjtje, and Clarke should be at AA/AAA/MLB. That makes 14 pitchers for 10 spots at AA/AAA. And that doesn’t include Hanson. Granted there should be openings on the STL staff.

I didn’t realize that along with Richardsons improved power numbers he has 23 stolen bases. He is quite a high percentage thief.

Dos Santos and Cruz move up. Surprisingly Sammy Hernandez moves up to 30. Sometimes I think BA likes to shock us. Doyle still in top 100.

Add Rojas to the list. Didn’t realize he was an expensive signing. So far, so good though.

Do we trade May if we drop out of the playoff race?

Davis appears to be a bust. Nick Plummer 2.0. He still has time. We have had some bad first round picks.

Indeed we do need starting pitching. The question is whether Marhews is part of the equation this year or not. Beyond May and Mcreevy it’s not good enough.

Gastelum needs added. Bullpen is a major concern.

I think our playoff chances hinge on our rotation other than May and McGreevy and the offense continuing their success. The middle relief has to be better too. I would add Gastelum. Not sure what roster spot he’d get, but he was unescorted upon in June. I like Graceffo, but he is not a swing and miss guy. Not saying he should be cut, but we need bullpen guys who get Ks when needed.

Galle looks to have a live atm. He reminds me of Svanson if he can have better command. I was expecting nothing of a PTNL.

I love it when prospects seemingly come out of nowhere. Cho was touted when he signed. This year he has finally living up to his promise, at least so far. Others who raised their stock and had a solid month are Weingartner and Smith at Palm Beach. I’m going to back to Brian’s article on when Weingartner was drafted. I didn’t think he had power stats. But he has 11 homers this year.
In fact 3 players we picked up in trades, Martinez, Galle, and Smith have shown promise where I thought there’d be none.

I picked Doyle before the draft and I’m sticking with him. It’s going to take time. Besides Hernandez has to do well at AA before I even think about him.

I don’t think I’d go for that for Detmers. Too much prospect capital. Maybe Liberatore instead of Dobbins. And I’m not trading Jesus Baez either. Also, we have a bunch of lefty starting prospects in our system.

If I had a crystal ball I’d say that May won’t be on our team next year, if there is a next. I would also say Pallantes is gone as well. I hope Andre like May and Nootbaar that they do well so we can hrs valuable trade chips for them. Liberatore could be moved also.

Weingartner ad Smith for Palm Beach have had very good months. Much like Richardson II, I didn’t think they were prospects. It’s nice to have some pleasant surprises though. They all batted around .300, with Weingartner showing some pop with 11 homers. Hunter has started to hit as well for our FCL team.

I am also in on drafting a college pitcher like Flukey, or if there s someone who falls Wetherholt 2 years ago. Kahn’s would be a nice addition for the next couple picks.
