As far as Dobbins returning before 15 days, 85booyah was correct:

Thank you for the information on trades and 15-day option period. Learned something new!

Brian, I assume this is just a procedural move to put them on a team since the FCL has already finished their schedule. Can we expect some of the draftees will be moved up to Palm Beach as soon as next week? I would love to see them get into some action!

Yes. Oddly, Henne, Harrison and Horn are the last three draft picks yet to be placed on a roster.

I also hope some of them will appear with Palm Beach. Who depends on the Cardinals assessment of their readiness to play after a layoff period. Kyle is convinced that Condon will talk his way into a Palm Beach game!

I am glad to see we have signed another Scrabble, although this one is RH.

Glad to see the two moved up from FCL to Palm Beach! They deserved it!

    Another draft pick assigned:
07/29/26 – SS Owen Henne assigned to FCL Cardinals.

Well, a snafu has occurred. Despite what was posted on MiLB.com and via X and told to me initially by an organization official, Facundo Velasquez has NOT been released.

Cards Player Dev deleted the above Tweet and MiLB.com is removing the transaction. I backed out the change in the Roster Matrix as well.

Is Mathews about to get called up?

Who is going off the 40-man? New Scrabble?

    I’d call him scrabble light.

I would guess Romero, Stanek, or May is leaving the 40-man to make room in a trade prior to that point. Maybe they have a backup deal already worked out?

A trade does make the most sense – but they will have to pull it off prior to Saturday’s first pitch, two days before the deadline.

Strzelecki has three vowels, none of them Y, so I don’t think that counts.

They don’t have to make a move until Saturday for the 40 man. They could keep Strzelecki in case they get pounded Friday or arr doing the pounding and drop him if needed. Could also be a random IL stint.

I didn’t realize Davila had been ported to Springfield. Since he got moved to the bullpen he is an interesting prospect.

Another one of the prospects I like is Rincon. He has a Below 3 era in his last 31 1/3 innings with 42 Ks. May be a future bullpen option. He is Rule 5 eligible and a minor league free agent after this season I believe.

3 prospects who have leaped up my rankings are Gurevitch, Jesus Baez, and Cho. Now all top 15 on my lists.

Hence has been DFA’d. Svanson sent down and Matthews added.

I saw this in the MLB Trade Rumors blurb on the Hence DFA:

“… it seems quite likely that the Cardinals will swing a deal for Hence before Monday’s trade deadline…”

C27, on Jesus Baez, please take a look at his part of the Player of the Month article.

I hadn’t had Hence on my top prospect list for quite a while, but I offer condolences to those who still did. He will move on now, and if miracles happen, I hope one happens for him.

Maybe they can at least get something out of Hence, but I am not disappointed if they don’t. He had many opportunities and for Hence and the Cards it is best to move on.

The best thing I read in the above is that Svanson is on the bus to Memphis.
