It looks like Baez and Molina player and pitcher of the month for June. Gastelum wasn’t scored on either, so it might be him

Does Molinas promotion mean Fajardo may be on his way to Springfield?

Molina will make it 4 lefties in the rotation for Memphis.

The better the Cards record is, the more I wish we’d have bstter lottery results. I wasn’t concerned when I thought we’d have another bite at a number 1 overall pick in 2027. Picking 13th this year was bad mojo.

Well deserved promotion for Molina. I wonder who he is replacing? Zimmerman or Hanson?

I miss seeing Torres in the lineup. We should find a spot for him, or send him down. And it will be interesting how we handle the difficult stretch coming up. I will think about drinking the Kool Aid if we get through the next month.

Watching the minor leaguers like I do, I really like seeing improvement. Richard son’s improved pop has been noted. But y’all need to check out Weingartner and Smith for Palm Beach. They have had great months of June. Smith was thrown in on the Sonny Gray trade. He started out slowly, as he has little professional experience. But he can be an OBP machine. All 3 mentioned above have shown improvement.

Zimmerman has MOB experience. To the tune of 40 games and a 5.60 era. Taylor was never given a chance. He is not pitching well in the KBO either this year.

Robberse remains a possibility. There is little to lose continuing him as a starter. Although any future he has probably is in the bullpen. He may work out as Rajcic did.

Zimmerman is a filler. He is an inning eater who sucks. If it wasn’t for Henderson being hurt, he wouldn’t have a job.

There is no comparison between Zimmerman and Taylor. ZZimmerman has MLB experience, and sucked, but Taylor has not. I am wondering how TTaylor has done overseas.

Molina was outstanding tonight. He has pitched the longest outings of the year of any of our prospects, 6 2/3, twice in a row. That change up of his is a game changer. And he has not walked batters like other top pitching prospects.

I just don’t think we have enough pitching to stay in the playoff race. If our hitting falls off like it has we are in trouble. These next 4 series will provide an extremely tough test.

Cards24, I just don’t see a need to keep starting Zimmerman. Molina has had the most solid season at Springfield, including 13 1/3 scoreless innings. Zimmerman could still be in the rotation, or moved to long relief, at least until Hendersons returns. In fact, I think Molina has been our best pitcher in the minors. He’s pitched over half a season, and IMO doesn’t have any more to prove at AA.

I’d love to see Molina at AAA. If there’s room. I wouldn’t mind releasing Zimmerman.

Is it possible the 2027 draft will remain same? I am thinking the QO rules, competitive Balance rules and ROTY compensation will be based on 2026 results.

I wonder if they are considering demoting or moving Liberatoreto the bullpen?

I believe Dutkanych and Graham are piggybacking each other at Palm Beach. Both went 3 innings each last time out.

I am curious when Clarke begins his rehab if he will show improved command. There were some who thought the high walk rate he experienced after his promotion might have been related to his blisters. That would make sense.

We’ve had a series of no hit outings by our prospects. Last night was Van Dykes 5 innings of no,hit ball. Previously Lin and Odle had 6 innings each.

Can someone explain to me several things about the Memphis game tonight

    Why did Shuster start tonight?
Why did they call up Savacool again from Peoria? He is looking the Cards want him to fail. Is there no one worthy of call up from Springfield? I would have thought Findlay or Watson maybe? I think both of them might be able to pitch in the big leagues someday.

Mautz and Mathews could help us year. After Dobbins, of course.

Looking over the Peoria box score i see that both teams struck out 21 times, 42 total. This is beyond ridiculous. It has to be a record.

Another underrated part of the game is base running. I’ll veer off Edmonds on this as he was average. But Pujols, Walker, Rolen, and Molina were exceptional. Those players made more out of their lack of speed with high baseball IQ.
