Just finished a din din of pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes with pepper sauce and snap beans. Followed that up with a slice of apple pie topped with a scoop of Haagen-Dazs vanilla. Pretty much an American efort ce soir.

I know a lot of you are not old enough to remember, but there was a time when pitchers actually used to pitch a WHOLE GAME!
Is Brad Thompson paid by the word? He’s driving me nuts with his endless blather trying to guess what the next pitch is going to be.
Hmmm. Just finished my piece of Gouda and spinach quiche, now I need a burst of Redbird offense to aid digestion.
Of course I understand it’s only 10 games in and nobody should expect miracles. It’s fun watching some of these young guys, especially those who like to run. Right now the bullpen is on the scary side, in fact the whole pitching dept pretty much gives me a rash. Walker is an early bright spot after his long struggles. We can only hope he has finally arrived. And JJ cheers one up immensely, but let’s check back in mid-summer. But if mediocrity is our rebuild goal for 2026 success may be on the horizon.
I have been among Walker’s severest critics. Let’s hope his current offensive and defensive improvement is real.
Nice to get ahead early and hold them off for nine innings. I must say, though, this Stanek guy does not inspire confidence.
