RHP Andre Pallante (1-0, 0.00) vs. RHP Zack Littell (0-1, 5.40)
Cards/TV // KMOXApril 6, 2026 at 12:19 pm #304062I’ll be at games 1 and 2. After being in the 80s over the weekend and headed to 77 on Saturday, it will get down to the low 40s tonight and a slight chance of a freeze Tuesday night, so I’m going to take my parka with, just like when I used to go to games at Candlestick. I’ll try to bring home a couple winners.
April 6, 2026 at 1:39 pm #304069Looking forward to your local reports on the action!
April 6, 2026 at 3:35 pm #304072It will be a cold take rather than a hot one….

Marmol said Masyn Winn was unable to run pregame yesterday in Detroit due to the cold. He’ll do that on the field here today and depending on how he fills, could still yet be in this evening’s lineup.April 6, 2026 at 4:15 pm #304077He was too cold to run? Maybe if he’d engage himself in a leisurely pregame trot he’d warm up a little. Either that, or wear his longhandles…
April 6, 2026 at 4:19 pm #304079I will miss this one as I am working Rockies-Astros tonight. But I will keep up through the out of town scoreboard and when I can sneak a peek at the phone.
Not a Pallante fan, but he was darn good in his first start. He mixes a good game or two in at times between the clunkers.
Also that Herrera batting second lineup irks me. Reminds me of when Marmol hit Goldy second almost all of 2023. Now I understand it to a point, as once you turn the lineup over you have Scott and JJ in front of him. But I would prefer him at 4 ahead of Winn (when healthy) and Burly-Q.
April 6, 2026 at 4:31 pm #304080The weather appears to be cooperating for this one tonight.
Not sure about the temps but the green stuff all appears to be out of the area about an hour before first pitch.
April 6, 2026 at 4:31 pm #304081Leg trouble two years in a row in his early 20s is kind of ominous. Knee and now hip. A SS can’t have bum wheels.
April 6, 2026 at 5:13 pm #304082Well, Winn is now playing tonight. So, there’s that.

Now if he can do something about the .172 BA.

ParticipantI dont know what the attendance is there but its not very high. It is a monday night though.
April 6, 2026 at 7:52 pm #304092Tuning in now. Wow 7 walks allowed already. It is a miracle the game is tied at the moment. The pitching staff has been allowing so many walks.
Great throw by Saggasse.

ParticipantSegeese actually threw someone out at home. Of course he was only 20 feet behind third thank goodness. I think even i at 60 have a stronger arm than him. They challenged it. It was super close.

ParticipantWalker unties it with a homerun. Opposite field, i like it.
April 6, 2026 at 7:59 pm #304095Walker with an oppo HR. Good job of taking the high and outside pitching and going opp with it
April 6, 2026 at 8:00 pm #304096I remember all the off-season people adamant Walker shouldn’t get another chance and should be in AAA and some even saying AA. There wasn’t any harm in letting him get more runway at the MLB level.
April 6, 2026 at 8:12 pm #304100I’m still completely perplexed on Walker. He still looks like he’s guessing on pitches. He is better at laying off outside sliders. I think he’s guessing on those better. He looked so terrible throughout all but the last week of Spring Training and even now he still has some very poor at bats. But his swing mechanics have adjusted enough to help him get his bat on the ball better and get it in the air a lot better. He has always had the power so that’s a great combo now. I’m still really worried that this may just be a streak. But he’s on one heck of a streak if it is. I defended Walker for years because he was so young and brought up under absurd circumstances. But I wanted him back in AAA after what I was seeing in Spring training. Clearly I was wrong!
Speaking of being wrong, my guy Granillo is really struggling here. On the positive side, I was a big Rincon fan years ago and he is now getting a chance at AAA. Good for him. He has become really good. Awesome changeup. And a fun guy to watch pitch.
April 6, 2026 at 8:15 pm #304101I haven’t seen but maybe half of Walker’s PA and when I watch it always seems like his good PA. His swing decisions have looked much better to me and he has laid off some tough pitches in some PA that last year I know he would have swung at.
April 6, 2026 at 8:16 pm #304102I think my local AA team may have more fans in a attendance for most games than the Nationals tonight
April 6, 2026 at 8:23 pm #304103Herrera is so much better at ABS challenges than Pages is
April 6, 2026 at 8:24 pm #304104And Stanek gives up a 3 run bomb
April 6, 2026 at 8:27 pm #3041051982 willie
ParticipantStanek just seems like its always going to be a guessing game which one shows up. Good one or bad one. Tie game again after a 3 run blast. We will see if svanson can get us out of this inning. Bases cleared so its on him.
April 6, 2026 at 8:28 pm #304107And now a 2-run homer.
Cards trail 8-6.
