I just checked the back of White’s card on BR, Bikemike. In addition to those 7 consecutive GG’s, he put 3 consecutive seasons with 100 or more RBI’s up on the board as a Redbird and placed 3rd between Callison and F. Robinson in the ’64 NL MVP voting. He’s also pushing close to 93 years of age. Bill White’s a veritable living NL baseball legend.

Yep, Bill White made a huge impact on the game. Played, broadcasted, and eventually rose to President of the National League.

Bill was instrumental in getting Gussie Busch to integrate the Cardinals Spring Training facilities in the early ’60s as well. One of my all-time favorite Cardinals.

Man, Winn has a cannon! Great play to get out of the first and third, no out situation.

This has been a tightly contested and well played baseball game. So far.

Stanek sure walks a lot of guys.

Haha!…Yadier over there next to the camera guy. In addition to being a HOF catcher and one of my all time favorite Cardinals, Molina also provided me with a lot of good laughs over the years. Especially during interviews. Most of those were genuine Yadier classics.

I see that Skippy’s got his Rangers off to a 4-1 start. He did good in Florida and I expect him to do better in Texas. He played for a pretty good Big League manager when he was a Cardinal and Skippy always impressed me as a guy who pays close attention.

That’s a winner. Herrera called a good game behind the plate and at it hit well and had a good strike zone judgement.

Well, that was a nice and pleasant uneventful inning of work from O’Brien to seal it shut and close it out for the W.

Yeah 1TD agree. An easy non eventful save is nice

I’d like to see Saggasse get more opportunities in LF with Church struggling so much.

Also have to say it is nice seeing Victor playing good so far this year

Yeah, Albert, I’m not accustomed to those, but I could really grow fond of a stretch of 9th innings identical to what was featured in tonight’s game.

Yeah, Scott is going to have to have to feature at least a moderate amount of offensive production from the CF position. So far, so good.

They played a near flawless game across the board tonight, Bling. Real good turn from the SP’er, no E’s, timely hitting and, with the exception of a solitary BB, a perfect 4 innings of work from the BP.

Nice to get ahead early and hold them off for nine innings. I must say, though, this Stanek guy does not inspire confidence.
    Rah Cardinals!

When your clean up hitter is trying to bunt runners over, something is wrong with your lineup.

Hopefully we have seen the last of Stanek as closer. That should be O’Brien’s job with the occasional assist from Jo Jo.

Solid win last night against a good team. Oh and the Cubs lost to the Angels so that makes it a real good night.

Hopefully we’ve seen the last of Winn batting clean up, Stanek closing, and Hererra’s hitting funk.
