Walker got a middle in meatball and smoked it. I have been impressed with his more disciplined hitting though. We will have to see if it holds up.

I have been among Walker’s severest critics. Let’s hope his current offensive and defensive improvement is real.

Eno Sarris is a smart guy. We all hope he is right here.

    Here is another view.

    And yet another.

    And this.

The difference between hitting .220 and .270 is exactly 5 more hits per 100 at at bats. So over roughly 25 games if you can collect just 1 additional hit over every 5 game stretch you can go from well below to well above the league average.

The metrics generated during a week long hot streak will look good. His new less open stance looks good. The confidence from success at the plate should be beneficial.

Yeah, let’s hope something really has changed for Walker. His stance does look better – he seems more balanced and not so leaned back as he was. And he looks to be more selective, although he has let a few mid-zone pitches go by. But obviously he is doing better and let’s just hope it is due to fundamental improvements and not just a hot streak.
