Defense is much improved so far.
Offense is disappointing.
Starting Pitching…meh.
Bullpen is less than I’d hoped.
Playing like a .500ish team.
Need a spark.Another stellar day at the dish for our DH.
Awful.

And he provides “veteran leadership”
Yes. But history says NO.
I would be glad for 1.

Again, a winnable lineup. Need a big game from Arenado, Burleson, Scott, Gibson. And, maybe, Fernandez out of the pen.Hopefully some other Cards playing today get involved. Really looking forward to getting some guys back from the IL. Burleson is not a reliable DH. No pop at all.
Ricky Horton and Jim Edmonds are probably announcers instead of scouts or coaches for a reason. When Burleson’s replacement come off the IL or is brought up from the minors shortly, they will saw that guy is awesome too.
As previously stated both are paid by the Cards and not critical of players or management.
OK!
And it wouldn’t take anyone near the caliber of Gehrig to replace this Golden Corall frequent-flyer.
Burleson needs to get Wally Pipp-ed.
Weak roller to 3rd with a man on 3rd. Lefty DH he is not! Where is the SAC fly or hit?1TD wrote:
I’ve heard him talk too and I’m entirely convinced that 3 or 4 W’s could be added to the season total if he were to just stop talking.More wins than that when he is removed and replaced with a flat 0 WAR MLB manager.
If he respects “Burly” it’s on a personal level. If he reads the metrics on his MLB performance, he would not even be on the bench.
O k
Pathetic production for a DH vs the Marlins today. Good slap to LF but still only warning track power.
oK
And frankly, what would the Cards get if they shopped Burleson?
Not much.
Other clubs can easily research his poor fielding slow base running inability to hit LH pitching and lack of power
His considerable poor MLB performance overshadows his success as a minor league player.
And yes Pugsley, the offense is anemic outside of WC and BD.
Starting pitching was better than I hoped.
3-4 is a pretty standard West Coast trip even with a good team. Guess I’ll take it given 3 outfielders and Gray were on the IL.
Still a SSS but Burly is having a rough year at the plate. Guessing he gets sent down when some of the other 3 outfielders on the IL trickle back because he still has options, and because there are other left-handed DH options.
Really needed him today.
Probably needs to be somewhere where he can play everyday. Not sure that’s in STL.
I would agree.
Many AA and AAA players could transition up, down, or out down depending on their performance or the needs of the organization.

April 1, 2024 at 2:13 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2024 Game #5 thread – at Padres, Monday, April 1 #245985I am a die hard lifetime Cards fan. But I strongly believe that the “organization” was on the wrong side of the philosophical differences leading to Mike Shildt ‘s curious
removal. History has proven that out.It would not pain me terribly to see SD and Mr. Shildt blister the Cards in this series.
Then back to business vs. Miami.
10-4 on that.

I don’t think the CN moderators need any help from you or anybody else in moderating this civil message board.Yesterday you thought Yamamoto was a Left Handed Pitcher. So maybe it would best suit you to listen and learn from those more informed?
ok

Doubtful. Thought you were coached to use existing trade thread?
March 31, 2024 at 6:11 am in reply to: St. Louis 2024 Game #3 thread – at Dodgers, Saturday, March 30 #245755Burleson had a good game. In the field and at the plate. (Home plate and also probably at his dinner plate):
