He needs to produce more power. In observing his swing, it looks like he could.

Who does his swing remind you of?

This spring, he is 9-for-24 (.375), eight singles and one double.

Not too shabby, Shady. Welcome aboard! Burleson reminds me of a young Dante Bichette, though Dante hit right, who didn’t whack many round trippers early in his career too. Burly will eventually muscle up……that you can be assured of.

If you look at Burly’s spray chart he sprays it all over the field. His homers come to the pull side and so do his ground outs. I think if he tried for more homers he would be Matt Carpenter.

Any updates from a BoSox scout on Burleson’s development? And maybe what he thinks of Saggese. My oh my, those two cats can hit.

Good to see you posting Shady, hope all is well. I talked to my friend the red sox scout last week and he still thinks Burleson is going to be a 300 hitter with a lot of doubles,I will ask about Saggese the next time we talk

Thanks wally, it is really cool to have access to a professional baseball scout’s opinions.

Occasionally, I get a glimpse of Max Muncy in Burly’s swing. I think its in the front leg / foot, where I see it sometimes. What I don’t see is the bent knee Max uses on his left-off swings, when he’s early, but still catches the pull pitch out front (for power).

Burly lets pitches get deep, which aids in going oppo, but can he better his out-front contact (for power)? Longer thru the zone lacking?

Interesting. Something is just not quite there for Burly to have a consistent power stroke.

He’s poorly conditioned and marginally talented Shady/Wally. We’ve covered this previously.

Again, ease off the personal insinuations. Hopefully, the moderators here will catch on to your incessant, obsessive attempts to harass.

Burly, I know you are new here. But whatever issues you had with posters on other boards, you need to leave there. This is not like many other forums where anything goes.

Many of your comments since joining here have nothing to do with baseball. That needs to change from here on out. Thank you.

When people don’t follow the posted rules, the moderators will deal with it. Sometimes you don’t see it. But with the new posters coming with the new season, there have been some bumps. Surprisingly some of our regulars who know better are also testing the boundaries instead of helping new folks acclimate to how we run our community. Frankly, that is disappointing.

    Let’s just focus on baseball.

Nice to see a home run from Burly today. I believe he has some untapped power potential.

It’s kind of funny seeing some of the Burleson bashers doing the “bob and weave” now. Some, who were extremely demeaning towards him. Some still can’t quite let it go. Keep mashing the ball, Burly. Like wally and I forecasted a long time ago. With the help of a professional baseball scout.
