So, I guess Donovan is the late inning defensive replacement for Arenado at 3rd.

I guess King is a guy you can throw away in a game like this as well. But that’s it. Don’t sacrifice anyone else Ollie.

Yeah, Pugs, they were good when the NFL was really good and that original 1970’s MNF song really got you amped up for the game. I just looked it up and the name of the song was “Heavy Action”…Haha!

The out of town scoreboard shows Milwaukee winning big and Pittsburgh won, so we will drop another game behind and likely stay in the cellar.

Looks like Skip will be available at the end of the year.

Cubs up on LA 6-0 as well. Only the Reds look like a loser today in the NLC, other than our club.

The 10-1 score looks really bad, but I don’t guess it’s any worse than a 2-1 final. What made this one hurt was that it was out of reach before I could get any mustard on my hot dog.

Down 5 after 1? 2023 all over again.

Looks like Gibson stayed and ate innings thru the 6th ✅ (Give me the short scoreless 5 inning start everyday)

When behind relievers used, day off for the good relievers ✅

Gorman HR to CF ✅ (next one is the “rocket”, just about there)

They were down by 6 runs after 1, JJ. Gibson was touched up for a pair of 3 run taters in the visitor half of the 1st.

Seems like they are ready to pitch Gray sooner than vs ARI. Likely limited pitch count?

They said he’ll take his first turn Tues. vs. the Phillies. I’d guess they’ll limit him to under 100 pitches…

That’s a shame about skip after what he did last season but you could see the writing on the wall before season began. Hopefully the marlins will stay terrible after that, teamscshould get what they deserve.

Siani’s first career extra base hit is a triple.

Gorman with another tater in this game. Need to get him ripping the baseball in games that are within reach.

    Grey has 65 pitch limit.

It sound like Skip is not wanting to stay in Miami anyway with NG forced out and Bendix in.

The pitcher we roughed up in the 9th is a 34 year old guy who pitched in Japan in 2022 and for the Dodgers AAA team last year, posting a 6.05 ERA. Marlins signed him to a minor league contract over the winter. This seems to have been his first appearance of the season.

We continue to be the worst team in the NLC over the first 10 games of the season. This game also dropped us to -5 as far as runs scored versus runs allowed, again worst in the NLC.

Also the teams we have played have a combined 14-19 record, so it’s not like we have had a tough early schedule. But then again, those numbers are skewed by Miami’s horrible start, and the fact that 4 of our 10 games have been against an 8-3 team.

Not a lot to get excited about yet – we do not look all that much improved over last year. However, the defense does look much better. That is the one noticeable area of improvement in the few games played so far. Let’s hope this is an indicator of more good run prevention as we progress in 2024.

A long way to go – anything can happen. I am surprised at the good early play by Milwaukee. I thought of them as more of a rebuilding club this year, but they have come out strong in the first 10 days or so.

Defense is much improved so far.
    Offense is disappointing.
    Starting Pitching…meh.
Bullpen is less than I’d hoped.
    Playing like a .500ish team.
    Need a spark.

Rough day today. The positive is that the team has won two series in a row. Hoping for a third series victory next.
