I guess it all depends on how Dejong is playing.
And I don’t want to hear anything about giving someone a position who was demoted to Memphis. Diaz plate discipline sucked all year and just cause he’s raking now doesn’t mean his approach has changed.
We waste a lead off double by Carpenter. I’ll bet with our outburst yesterday we will struggle to get any runs in this series. Boy would a guy like Jay Bruce be nice to have the last 50 games of the season.
I know this sounds crazy but why not try Fowler at clean up upon his return?

WongI think 3rd and the 5th starter is anything but set with recent events.
I mean would anyone be opposed to renting Donaldson next season for 2-3 prospects? We could really use a power bat and move Jedd back to his super sub inf role.
At this point there’s almost no point in talking to him. Everyone has tried and most have failed. I think it’s best to let him do his own thing and see where it takes him.
It’s not in this teams nature to win 2 of 3 on the road against an opponent over .500. It the culture that’s been allowed to get out with 1 win in a 3 game road series.
He wasn’t going to be the same player regardless but the Yankees couldn’t really complain on the production he showed the first 3 months of the season. Clearly the viral infection has effected him.
I guess that would depend on what a team like Cleveland would offer now wouldn’t it.
But I agree if he found magic in a bottle the last 2 months of the season last year then he could do it again. It’s risky if continues the up and down play like hes done all season.
I think this is a clear indication the Cardinals are satisfied to keep Lynn and get a 3rd round pick when he walks unless they’re blown away by the 31st deadline. WE want someone to throw us an offer.

I think Martinez has done what they’ve asked of him. He just a poor defender where they need him to be solid. Still think he can stick somewhere next year or possibly be involved in a trade after the deadline.

His steep decline caused some issues due to other players not stepping up offense and Matheny playing him even when he was unplayable for several weeks. Piscotty has been banged up mentally and physically. Grichuk hasn’t turned a corner. Molina has regressed (expected) Carpenter has had a tad of a decline. Then again Dejong, Pham, Wong and Gyorko have played over expectations. Imagined if everyone was able to make up for Diaz downturn? We’d be in a little better position for sure. Oh and 2 of those guys listed didn’t even make the club out of spring.
Oh has been almost a failure. His inability to nail down the closer made this bullpen a bit haphazard. Other guys contributed to that by performing poorly out of the gate. Clearly though he’s be #2 on my list.
inconsistent lineup and bullpen makes this team what it is. The baserunning and overall substandard defense makes it worse than what it should be.

We need more than that but the bullpen has been pretty awful.
I just wonder who closes for this team next year.
Guys been fast tracked a bit. The Mariners seem to want to challenge the guy. Hasn’t produced a high average at a couple stops but he’s learned to get on base a bit more. He’s does appear to like to grip and rip but he’s likely got more upside than Grichuk will ever show.
I also agree we can’t be finished. You don’t put a guy like this in your organization unless you intend to either play him at some point over someone you’ve got now or (and this is about a 5% chance) include him in a bigger deal.
Well if he was in Springfield he’s be preparing to be a starter. What he’s been whining privately for a long time now.
And this team needs more player calling others out who’ve been allowed by the management and this ownership to foul up too many times. There’s no accountability within the dugout to punish these players for the boneheaded mistakes they make night in a night out. I’m sick of this crap and many of us are tired of it as well.
There’s no defending that play. Rosenthal needs to use his head and realize who’s at the plate and know if it’s hit to first he needs to get off his ass quickly and get to the bag. In a nutshell it what’s exactly wrong with this organization. You’ve got a mouth breather in the dugout and it rubs off on his players.
You know I thought about this last night. I could see them hold teams feet to the fire knowing they can still hold on to him and get a 2nd round pick if he gets paid. We all know how bowtie lost his picks this year and wants to recoup them.
The Royals really have no one I’d consider. Maybe Junis and the kid Kahlil Mack would be possible but my thing would be who else could we dump on them? Might as well take out the trash at once.
Fowler is having a horrible night. His worst game in a long time and that might be before he was on the northside.
The rub with Sierra is like many players who come through this system he’s not only raw but lack fundamentals in certain area’s. He’s a flawed player with raw talent.
I don’t hold much into those stats. If his OPS is around .800 and he plays solid defense the rest of the way I’ll take it.
