oh I don’t know Bccran maybe trying something different for two years is a strategy worth 86M plus luxury tax. Goldy and Arenado aren’t getting any younger. It fails then back to the prior strategy no long-term commitment.
Having one gives you a better shot. But whatever they will keep doing the same no doubt. And fans here are good with the strategy.
Most if not all long-term deal will be regrettable some sooner than others. That’s the business model in place. Teams know there is very little chance almost no chance the player will be productive for 10 let alone 13 years. Most teams with tons of resources don’t care as much if the player in question gets them a title maybe hope for two. Roll the dice after all is only money.
Jameson Taillon a year older but similar pitcher got 4/63. So I think that would be a fair offer but no way Boras lets him take that. I think 5/100 may do it.
and that’s becoming the distant past quickly. They need an elite pitcher. 2006 was a fluke and 2011 they had an elite pitcher Mr. Carpenter. Quantity will no translate into quality. Winning the division sure that would do. Going deep into the playoffs not so much. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Rinse and repeat for 2023
Gonna guess Brooks Robinson is in there probably Eddie Murray and maybe Hank Aaron. I will look it up now.
