I would do that trade too.
Rodon to the Yankees 6/162
oh I don’t know Bccran maybe trying something different for two years is a strategy worth 86M plus luxury tax. Goldy and Arenado aren’t getting any younger. It fails then back to the prior strategy no long-term commitment.
Why not sign Verlander for two years? It worked for Houston
Great post stlcard25. I agree a 100%
Did they win?
The last 22 yrs when did they win the world series without an ace?
Having one gives you a better shot. But whatever they will keep doing the same no doubt. And fans here are good with the strategy.
I was you talking about winning the WS. Our last two wins we had Carpenter.
and that’s been so successful in the playoffs since our last true ace Carpenter.

That’s the business model in place. Teams know there is very little chance almost no chance the player will be productive for 10 let alone 13 years. Most teams with tons of resources don’t care as much if the player in question gets them a title maybe hope for two. Roll the dice after all is only money.
Jameson Taillon a year older but similar pitcher got 4/63. So I think that would be a fair offer but no way Boras lets him take that. I think 5/100 may do it.
Too bad he can’t pitch. The hyperbole over Contreras is getting out of control.
Bassitt to Toronto 3/63
A 3 team deal…William Contreras to the Brewers…more to come
Sean Murphy to the Braves
He was a bona fide ace no doubt
I forgot about Carpenter in ’06 which was still a fluke that was a mediocre at best.
and that’s becoming the distant past quickly. They need an elite pitcher. 2006 was a fluke and 2011 they had an elite pitcher Mr. Carpenter. Quantity will no translate into quality. Winning the division sure that would do. Going deep into the playoffs not so much. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Rinse and repeat for 2023
Keep quantity over quality. Results will be the same since 2012.
Pujols will be #1 as soon as he is in lol. Surprising names in there. A lot of Orioles lol
Gonna guess Brooks Robinson is in there probably Eddie Murray and maybe Hank Aaron. I will look it up now.
They will be. Just ahead of myself
Pujols has to be numero 1. Yadi must be in there somewhere
But this time you got the one of the reasons why. But seriously they are a good stat but not a great one.
