And Washington also signed pitchers Strasburg and Corbin to similarly massive long-term contracts, and those contracts have backfired so horribly that the team has finished last three years in a row with no end to the misery in sight. That’s the downside to such contracts.
But they did get a world series win out of it. You win some you lose some but the win was pretty significant. If you don’t take risks you will good most of the time but just not good enough.

Maybe but they will need the luck and the ACE of 2006 which was not a good team or the ACE they had in 2011 to win. Contenders most years sure…serious contenders not so much. Playoffs results have been bad lately. Keep doing what they are doing you know maybe the blind squirrel will get lucky one year. It is great to have regular season success but ending the year with a resounding thud is getting old.
No thanks. He has been hurt. He is not close to being the pitcher he once was. He brings a lot of baggage with him.
haha you are funny
Same as you adoration of Eddie. You like those results great for you. How about winning in the playoffs…or even winning the world series.
Revenue and payroll rankings are right in line.
According to you. Is this a guess or do you have inside info on their finanacials?
You were the one who brought up the managing LLC partner keeping expenses in line with revenues. You must be assuming that’s what he is doing because you have no way of knowing.
The money is in the growth value of member equity (units), not in the annual P&l.
and how exactly do you accomplish this? Mr. Financial advisor
that is until the playoffs. You have no idea what the financial statements of the team look like.
It doesn’t bother me it is just weird. There are another 25 players on the team.
Players score runs at times by hitting into fc or errors. This love affair with Edman is just weird.
December 25, 2022 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #209900and did not win one single game in the playoffs. You like that year after year fine. But stop preaching to those of us that find it totally underwhelming. It isn’t whining it is the right to express our opinion to which you have the right to disagree with.
Private businesses are just that private. They don’t ask people for money, they offer a product which people can buy or not. No private business needs to show anything to the public. Public companies do.

December 20, 2022 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #209562Of course they don’t but Carpenter made it stand up.
Yeah $$$ matters but also not having to put up with the antagonism from the fans might be worth something money can’t buy.
December 20, 2022 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #209556Like I said before 2006 (really bad team but had an ace) and 2011 last two rings we had an ace. Since then good teams on and off but nothing to show for.
He may not hate St. Louis but based on his twitter feed the fans don’t seem to care much for him. His political views are rubbing fans the wrong way.
December 20, 2022 at 2:03 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #209553Without Carpenter’s 5th game gem they don’t move on. They scored only one run.
He is not a fan favorite so not much talk about him. I think eventually he and the Cardinals will part ways.
I wonder how having 24 less divisional games will affect the record in 2023. I haven’t look at the schedule in detail so I have no idea.
December 18, 2022 at 3:58 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #209435Yet the last two times we won we did have an ace.
