Nice report…thanks. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
July 6, 2025 at 6:59 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #91 thread – Sunday, July 6 at Chicago Cubs #286605Leo Bernal can’t get here quick enough
Last 15 games he’s hitting .228.
Burly is fool’s gold. Gets hot for 6 weeks and many think he’s 1971 Joe Torre.
As another poster wrote…he’s a .260 hitter. Not a prototypical #3 hitter.July 4, 2025 at 10:10 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #89 thread – Friday, July 4 at Chicago Cubs #286419Didn’t see the game…doing the 4th of July party things.
So Miles was pretty bad, eh?
July 4, 2025 at 10:18 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #89 thread – Friday, July 4 at Chicago Cubs #286362we need to get Pozo in there at catcher. He catches Mikolas at times so hopefully he is in the lineup.
sorry, its Pages.
Well, listening to Chip & Brad one would think Burly is the next Berkman or Larry Walker.
And let’s face it…he WAS really good in June. But sadly, you’re probably right…he is who he is.
June 30, 2025 at 4:41 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #86 thread – Monday, June 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #286094He was really good last June as well. Time to see if he keeps it up throughout the summer or if he fades once again.
If he can keep it up, he definitely can be considered a surprise.I thought Leo Bernal would get a nod as well. I’m extremely high on him as a prospect.
As we look to 2026, it’s certainly possible both McGreevy & Roby could be in the starting rotation.
Roby is having a breakout season and has (knock on wood) been healthy all year.
68.1 IP 75 K’s 3.42 era 1.07 WHIPAnd…lets not forget Mathews & Hence.
June 28, 2025 at 5:57 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #84 thread – Saturday, June 28 at Cleveland Guardians #285919Helsley needed an outing like that.
Great to see.
Jeesh…did Contreras murder that HR or what?June 28, 2025 at 4:16 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #84 thread – Saturday, June 28 at Cleveland Guardians #285879And then the wheels fell off…
June 28, 2025 at 3:47 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #84 thread – Saturday, June 28 at Cleveland Guardians #285875MM dealing today. That curve has been nasty.
The young Dave Parker could do it all…this is sad as he was so close to his HOF induction.
June 27, 2025 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Make your BOLD predictions for the 2025 St Louis Cardinals here!! #285839An interesting look back.
I’m sticking with 78-84.
Some nice pieces on this team, but no real star power.I like Winn, Donny, Herrera, Libby and a few others. But really…
I’m good with Arnold or Hernandez.
I’d love to have Holliday drop to us (longshot). Then there about a half dozen high school SS in the mix (yes, they can always switch positions).Hard to get a firm handle on this year’s draft.
May 10, 2025 at 9:26 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #40 thread – Saturday, May 10 at Washington Nationals #281608Will we see Gorman? Burly? Is Herrera back behind the plate? Does Walker or maybe Hurdy Gurdy sit?
It will be an interesting lineup today, no?
Well, Noot has to stay healthy…
But….
On pace to score 104 runs this season. And that’s with the slow Contreras start.
Well one thing is certain…IF the leadoff man doesn’t get on base, he’s definitely not crossing home plate!
And what you say isn’t entirely accurate….as a hitter can get on base, not score, but his getting on base could lead to others scoring.
.272/.409/.427/.836
17 RBI 18 Runs ScoredOne could make the case he’s the best leadoff man in baseball to-date this season.
April 16th and Noot hanging with a .422 OBP. Stay healthy, Noot! You get on base. A lot!
Nice to see Gorman back and having a nice game with the Dounle & BB.
Two series in the books and Noot has done an incredible job of setting the table for an improved Cardinal offense.
Fingers crossed he stays healthy.
March 31, 2025 at 6:09 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #4 thread – vs. Angels, Monday, March 31 #278456It was an educated guess.
March 31, 2025 at 4:53 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #4 thread – vs. Angels, Monday, March 31 #278453I believe both Pujols & Hornsby won a decade’s Triple Crown (2000’s & 1920’s), therefore it’s not a stretch to think the list could include Williams & Wagner?
He gets on base. A lot.
Needs to stay healthy. Tremendous value IF he stays healthy.
