Dodgers trailed 11-8 heading to the 9th last night at Arizona.

They scored three to tie in the 9th and then Watubi yanked a 3-run homer to win it 14-11.

    Never over until it’s over.

Oh, and we are two games behind the Cubs now. And they have two more games at Shea Stadium against the Mets this weekend.

Be interesting to see where things are at the end of May.

You just never know what you’re gonna see.

As I said yesterday, I expected Herrera at DH to be a ease him in situation. He apparently still has slight issues running.

“We kept the third catcher and sent Baker out to protect against the knee early on,” St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol said. “So for the next couple weeks, we can ease our way into DHing, catching, DHing, give him an off-day, but play it however needed.”

Will we see Gorman? Burly? Is Herrera back behind the plate? Does Walker or maybe Hurdy Gurdy sit?

It will be an interesting lineup today, no?

Williams is struggling vs lefties big time and Oli played Walker / Ivan vs the lefty starter yesterday. Ill take Pages today and Pozo tomorrow. We shall see. Interesting indeed.

Is Herrera ready to catch? If so it’s Herrera behind the plate. Gorman at second Donovan lf and Burleson dh. Noot rf. If not Herrera sits Pages c. I guess.

We had three catchers start yesterday’s game. Perhaps we should call up one more just to be safe.

    LA, Nats starting pitcher.

The Redbirds have a real chance to extend the winning streak on paper. However, Pallante needs to pick it up. He has struggled his last three starts or so.

    Let go Cardinals!

I was looking for Rat’s rant about another Saturday afternoon game, but nothing has arrived so far. Maybe it got deleted for use of improper language. 😀

Who had a 6 game winning streak on their bingo card? Do I hear 7?

The Cardinals haven’t reeled off 7 consecutive W’s since they did so on Aug. 21st of ’22. Jake Woodford was credited with the decision. It seems so long ago that I thought I might see Carlton’s name in the box…

    BikeMike,
I didn’t have time to rant about the Saturday afternoon day game. With all the rain we’ve had my grass was about knee high in places. So I hopped on the John Deere a while ago and been mowing. But you are right, I don’t like Saturday afternoon games! Nor do I like weekday afternoon games!

And the weather looks okay along the eastern seaboard. This one should have no delays.

Now it’s time to hop in the shower, grab some din-din. Today’s din-din will be a Hungry Man’s Turkey TV dinner, some deviled eggs, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a chocolate shake. All the while me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch tuning in. Then the Reds and Astros and then the Doyers and DBacks. Along with another couple of cigars. Then late tonight an episode of Mannix along with my late snack of French Toast sticks with butter and syrup, another chocolate shake, another ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and another cigar.

I labored for over 6 hours doing yardwork yesterday and that was just straightening out the flower beds, cleaning up brush and yard waste and running the trimmer and leaf blower. Today I feel like I need all new grease fittings. But that’s the easy part. Tomorrow our baby granddaughter will stop over to visit Maw Maw for Mother’s Day and she really wears me out…She out runs me on the base paths as though I’m backing up!

Sweet sweet Saturday agenda, Rat! I just returned from a 6 day 5 night whirlwind mini vacation in our soon to be 51st State. Gorman is right on the precipice of doing grandiose things with bat in hand. You can see it in his swing…….he’s finally arrived gang. What’s for din-din one may ask? Jimmy Dean’s biscuits & gravy, 3 poached eggs over white toast smothered in butter and salt & pepper, Folger’s coffee and 3 Popeye’s scrumpdilleitious apple cinnamon pies.

Pages with a single to give a 1-0 lead and then Scott works an 0-2 count full and gets a single to drive in Gorman. 2-0

Noot with a line drive double to drive in 2 and takes 3rd on the throw.

Cards jump out to a nice 4-0 lead!
