Thanks PA. We can change my vote to make it unanimous. He has tremendous potential to be a cornerstone for a few years.

I figured I’d be the only one to go against the grain. Lol

Wetherholt is the conventional pick, so I’ll be different and keep last year’s number one there for 2026. Besides we’ve seen the Cardinals overhyped hitting prospects before. I just don’t want to get my hopes too high on Wetherholt too quickly.

    1. Quinn Mathews, LHP

If they can’t hit our pitching we win more games. He’s one of three pitchers in the top five on my list. He could be an anchor for the next few years and one the Cardinals really haven’t had in a long while.

His reign is over, but it will take a whole lot longer than tomorrow to wash the stank off this mess of a franchise he leaves behind.

And there’s the final loss of the season, and thank goodness it’s over.

They are not a serious franchise any longer if they are seriously considering this (debatable that they aren’t already). They are the freaking Pirates more and more each day.

Don’t give two craps about that one tomorrow. I tuned the smart a$$ out long ago.

Hopefully we get some truth on Tuesday from Bloom. But something tells me it will be more of the same curated talking points.

This team is long overdue for an enema.

I don’t know if this has been said, but I’d send Jordan Walker to Mark McGwire this winter for some hitting advice and work. It would be a last gasp effort to see if he can reach his power potential.

The next thing they should do is follow the Nolen Ryan regime with their young starters. This worked very well a few years ago for the Rangers and again for a young Astros team.

Lastly, clear the deck. They are a season or two too late, but it has to happen now. Be aggressive next year. There’s nothing to lose. And for God’s sake, don’t be afraid to trade this winter, even some of the youth.

I’d change the manager, but that’s not likely until well into the season. I hope I’m wrong and they send him and this staff packing. Start fresh all around.

Here’s to a fun winter and new and better year of Cardinals baseball.

I think it’s little dramatic to just lose all hope based on a lame duck POBO and his decisions which likely aren’t going to get the haul people think. I just want to set you up for this.

It’s not dramatic at all. The guy replacing that lame duck was fired from his last job for failure to perform. What makes you think it will be any different with his crew running the show? This thing has been a mess for a long while now. I just want to set you up for this.

The Dodgers aren’t dumb enough to give us anything except for Helsley. We have nothing else they want or need.

According to Goold, that’s the first Rockies shutout in 220 games . . .

They’ve turned this proud franchise into a laughing stock. It’s a complete mess on the level of which they bought the club 30 years ago. I have zero confidence in amy of them to fix it.

And now we are going to trust this FO to make good decisions 8 days from now! C’mon man! This is a rudderless ship! Hope is rapidly going for me!

It’s exactly why he should have been fired during the off-season. And frankly speaking, I don’t have any confidence Bloom will be any better.

Not like you would’ve trusted bowtie to get anything of value in the off-season even if something came up. So you’d either complain about it now or later.

Lol, I’d have settled for a month’s supply of Coca Cola for the locker room in trade. It further cements the piss poor job Don Mo did running this team. I’m unfortunately still waiting for his release.

And some of you think pitching is our #1 problem?????

No Rat…I think the whole damn apple is rotten from the core to the outside. Top to bottom they need thrown out.

Well done Gray. Well done rolling out this stinker when the team needed you to pitch a good game. Again well done on this stinker.

For those clamoring to sell Fedde at the deadline you might want to adjust your expectations on the return. It is looking like it will be a 12 pack of diet mountain dews and a player to be named later. That isn’t going to help the vaunted reset.

I addressed this a few days ago. That would be a steal of a deal. Something to drink and a lotto ticket. In reality he should be DFA’d like Mikolas.

CIF I didn’t mention them by name but hinted when I said add whoever to make a deal happen. I agree completely with you. This should have happened last year at a minimum, but in true Cardinals fashion they slow rolled the teardown and rebuild.

This is what they needed to confirm the correct path forward. They’ve had a few guys play well at times this season. That much is true. They’ve also had some guys continue to show who they are which isn’t very good.

They should DFA Miles Mikolas. There should be zero debate after today. Nothing is gained with him anywhere on the roster. Fedde shouldn’t be far behind.

Arenado should prep his suitcase for a move. He should be gone shortly after the all-star break. Same for Helsley. See if Contreras and Gray will accept a move. Include whatever pieces are needed to facilitate the moves. Return is secondary to clearing the veterans and their ridiculous salaries off the roster.

Lastly, they should fire Mozaliak immediately. Same for Marmol. Let Stubby Clapp or Descalso run out the string. And for God’s sake play the kids so you know what you have going forward. Actually commit to the damn plan you said you wanted to do.

I can’t believe I was dumb enough to actually buy tickets to Sunday’s game.

It was a good day even in defeat. Spending time with two of my adult children meant more than the outcome of the game. On to the next one.
