Mo noon Monday
Bloom 10 a.m. TuesdaySeptember 28, 2025 at 9:39 am #293191Well at least they are having them (they skipped 2023;didn’t they?). Couldn’t care less about Mo on Monday.
I hope we get more that a word salad of cliches from Bloom on Tuesday.
To borrow from the Joker: This team needs an enema.

jj-cf-stlParticipantI hope CB doesn’t take the “we” view made popular by Mo and Bill. Accountability needs to step forward. No-one in the FO says “I”. “I” hope Bloom is not Bills next puppet, but that’s likely unrealistic “I” suppose. Misdirecting the blame has gotten old.
September 28, 2025 at 10:42 am #293193Don’t give two craps about that one tomorrow. I tuned the smart a$$ out long ago.
Hopefully we get some truth on Tuesday from Bloom. But something tells me it will be more of the same curated talking points.
This team is long overdue for an enema.
September 28, 2025 at 1:32 pm #293206We all know Bloom is tasked with doing more with less. At least initially. I hope he doesn’t insult our intelligence by skating around that. For me, the philosophy, whatever it is, has to go out the window. But Bloom works for the same boss Mo did, and we don’t know how much philosophy is imposed from above. Some of that, at least, is not going to change. The tone needs to be different at least. We need to have hope.
September 28, 2025 at 5:39 pm #293235I can’t imagine Mo has anything interesting to say.
We’ll soon see if Bloom is going to be a straight talker or another obfuscator.

ParticipantIn almost 30 years with the Cardinals, Mo has had some incredible highs, and over the past decade some unfortunate lows. I’m going to remember him for being on staff during 2 World Championships.
September 28, 2025 at 9:52 pm #293261I wonder if he’ll wear a red sportcoat at the presser?

stlcard25ParticipantI don’t dislike Mozeliak as some here. He mostly put a decent to good product on the field, and I think he was a part of the team being on the cutting edge for the first 15 years or so of the century. So for that, I’m thankful. I do wonder how much Mo is responsible for each change in organizational philosophy we’ve witnessed in the last 25 years. Are these last 5 years evidence of Dewitt putting his thumb on the hose, so to speak, or was it Mo’s plan all along to have a lull after Yadi and Waino and Goldy, Arenado, Carpenter, etc. were gone? I guess it could have been a joint plan. Hard to say. But I wish Mo the best, and hope the Bloom era starts strong.
September 29, 2025 at 7:58 am #293268Nothing – and I mean nothing – should be a surprise to Bloom as he takes over. He’s been here two full seasons as the POBO in waiting.
September 29, 2025 at 8:35 am #293272Excellent point. Bloom cannot say he needs time to evaluate the staff and roster. He needs to lay out his plan.
September 29, 2025 at 8:46 am #293274Yadi looks like a Hispanic Babe Ruth in this picture……..and it’s not just the hat.
September 29, 2025 at 9:12 am #293276Nice catch Pugs.
Cranny probably put it best about Mo. I leave it at that. Wish the last 10 could have been different.September 29, 2025 at 2:32 pm #293313I’ll genuinely miss Johnny. For almost 20 years I’ve closely studied his practiced and artful form of double talk and found it to be not only world class, but also extremely effective and persuasive. And the reality is that I’ve incorporated practical and productive use of his style in many areas of my own life. In fact, I’m reasonably certain I’ve used many of Johnny’s clever lines in order to prevent the need of a divorce attorney…
September 29, 2025 at 2:56 pm #293314Here is the Mo audio in case anyone wants to listen.

cardsfan64ParticipantBloom will have a honeymoon period, but probably not more than a few months into the season next year. Fans want to see some results of whatever roster shakeup that is coming. Personally, I don’t think the results will show up until a year or two down the road.

stlcard25ParticipantI watched the press conference. First, do all retiring GMs have press conferences? It feels a little bit weird. Besides the usual Mospeak, a few tidbits that stood out to me:
He talked about the haves and have nots, seeming to indicate that the Cardinals were in the latter group. I’m not sure why.
He called the Cards a team in a small market. Maybe this is the why. Mimics the Dewitt rhetoric a bit more than even usual for Mo.
He specifically mentioned the Brewers as being a team that has found ways to win “around the edges.” I actually don’t think the Brewers have been much better at finding average type players than the Cards. They have been much better at finding stars for the staff and lineup. That’s a key.
Mo talked about the death of Oscar Taveras being a pivot point. It really was…but I do think we’ve all let it become more of an excuse at this point.
Finally, he said that he was proud that the Cards have never had to rebuild during his tenure. He then said that they’ve never used that word, but that maybe the guys tomorrow would. That tells me that we are likely to hear the magic word from Bloom or Bill. Expect the meager times to really begin.
September 29, 2025 at 4:32 pm #293323I think I won’t listen to it. Sounds like he’s still in denial. It’s like a divorce. Remember the good times and move on.
September 29, 2025 at 7:29 pm #293329I can’t wait for Bowtie to get his red jacket. Some of you would blow a gasket. Lol
Naturally Bloom is ownerships puppet to an extent. I mean we saw what he did with limited resources in Tampa and the Bill’s saw that and are going to run with it. The days of our payroll getting over 150-180 million are over until they can get this figured out and asses back in the seats. Hell we might not ever see it again until inflation makes it a must 30-40 years from now. We’ll be dead by then. Lol
Hinging you hopes and prayers on an interductory press conference is foolish. He will say things people will want and won’t want to hear. This is Cardinals Nation his addressing. You won’t make half of the BFIB-WFIB fanbase happy regardless.
September 29, 2025 at 7:48 pm #293331Haha…Knowing Johnny, he’ll find a way to convince Willie Jr. to place a bow-tied statue on Spruce St. right next to Stan…
September 29, 2025 at 8:35 pm #293334I’m coming to the realization that 2011 could very well be the last time that I would have seen my beloved Cardinals squirt champagne all over each other in the midst of hoisting a huge trophy towards the heavens. Well at least I witnessed 3 of them(1982, 2006 & 2011). Think of all of the millions of cub fans whom passed away between say 1946 and late October of 2016, that never enjoyed just one world series triumph. Especially brutal were the ones, and there were many, that died in late October of 2016, just mere days shy of seeing their boys win it all for the very first time in their life. Well, I feel fortunate to have 3 under my belt. I know some of you out there have seen 5 Cardinal WS championships……lucky you!
September 29, 2025 at 8:52 pm #293335
jj-cf-stlParticipantMo recently has been bat first. He always talks of the lineup. Maybe that was Bill not buying into often injured pitching, so Mo focused on scoring runs. A hot lineup sells tickets better, until your lineup has no stars.
I’m hoping pitching and D is Blooms priority. Start selling until we can pitch CB!September 29, 2025 at 8:54 pm #293336It sometimes seems like it was just the other day that I watched that 11th inning game 6 walk-off HR to dead CF, Pugs, but it’s now been almost 15 years which is the length of the ’67 to ’82 Cardinal championship drought which, at that time, seemed like an eternity. At any rate, us Redbird fans are spoiled rotten and I’d like to keep it that way.
