Thanks folks. I’m mad at myself for not getting Stan the man Musial in there. I’ll see what I can do about that.

Baez, Mathews, and Fitts are the only three on that list that I think will definitely be on the 2027 team.
Doyle hasn’t even been to AAA yet, Cijntje needs more time at AAA, Hjerpe has quite a history of injuries, and either Bernal or Crooks are likely to get traded before next season.
You may be right, but Doyle is coming like a freight train. Something has clicked in a good way for him. I’m thinking he could be ready by mid-2027. Cijntje is also really close. He’s been getting better and better and as long as his hamstring tweak isn’t too bad I could see the same path for him over the next 10 to 12 months.

August 15, 2026 at 1:32 pm in reply to: StL 2026 Gm #123 thread – Sat, Aug15 at Cubs – “The Baez Game” #316205Boom. I have waited all season to see Baez get his shot. Wow, first pitch.
March 28, 2026 at 6:34 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #2 thread – Saturday, March 28 vs. Tampa Bay Rays #303496How about that. Two in a row. That’s called a winning streak. It has known to be contagious. They have happened before. See you tomorrow Cardinals fans.
Nothing like a win on opening day. High fives all around.
March 26, 2026 at 6:16 am in reply to: Make your BOLD predictions for the 2026 Cardinals HERE!!! #303260I’ll keep it simple. The Cardinals are going to lose and lose a lot this year. That isn’t all bad. They will continue to elevate the young talent in the system as a result.
They will be dealing pitching and a few position veterans and some prospects (rebalance some positions) at the deadline for additional talent. I expect them to add that young power outfield prospect(s) through this process in late July.
By Memorial Day, we will start to see the roster churn begin. Memphis and even Springfield will see some high risers get the call. Some of these current roster guys are on a clock, and midnight for their Cardinals career is about to strike zero one way or another unkess they quickly figure it out.
When they turn the lights out on the 2026 season, the Cardinals will be in line for a high-quality draft pick and be well positioned in the farm. They should finish this season shy of the 70 win mark with the opening day roster that’s on hand. It’s just not a good one. I say they finish around 67-95 plus or minus 3 losses.
Better days are ahead. It’s a process so knowing that I can endure what’s ahead in 2026. Good luck to the Cardinals, and hopefully, they prove me wrong. Enjoy 2026, everyone. Happy opening day.
The win total doesn’t surprise me at all.
Last season the Cardinals were shutout 13 times. What is your over under with this light hitting offense? I say around 18.5. I’ll take the over and predict between 22-25 times they will fail to hang at least one run.
I’ll try to see some good here. At least there is the opportunity for JJ and a couple of others to have a pressure free learning year and build on that.
Take the under. Looks like a 65 to 68 win team and that may be too high. This is going to be remembered as a very dark time in the franchise history.
About as well as they could do. This is a salary dump like all of the moves.
Hunter Dobbins is one of the pitchers returning the Cards way. Reports of multiple minor league pitchers as well.
November 27, 2025 at 6:12 pm in reply to: Something to discuss on Thanksgiving-Oli Extension #296630If anyone is surprised by this talk I can only say don’t be. This Cardinals franchise hasn’t been serious about winning in years now. They have passed into perpetual loser zone alongside the Pirates. Get used to it. This is who they are and the manager doesn’t mean a hill of damn beans.
