If you think we are bad……

The Doyers rookie pitcher, in his first appearance last night, the bases were loaded and a high chopper towards the first base line. He fields it, bobbles it, then throws it down in the RF corner. All the way to the wall. Three runners scored. The batter hit it 30 feet and ended up at 3rd.

That’s a “Totally Bullshoot Assessment”, Cardinal in France! Actually you made my morning with that post. Things have got so bad that I’m much more interested in what Cardinal in France is having for din-din tonight and what Rat will be watching on tv than who TBA ends up being. No matter who TBA is, you can bet the ranch that he’ll pose great difficulties for us. And speaking of din-dins, there’s no mystery in what Rat is having. It’s Wednesday, so he’ll be heading on out to his Amish restaurant to enjoy a feast fit for a heralded king. Then after din-din, he’ll head on out to the porch to unleash one of his foot long Via Palma 7×50 El Presidente Real cigars on the passerby’s. One final quick note. Over the years my mother has gone to 7 Cardinal-Rockies games in Denver…….and amazingly the Cardinals have yet to win one of these games. This streak should come to an abrupt end today…….but I certainly wouldn’t bet on it.

Wow Pugs, your mom is 0 and 7 in Cardinal-Rockie games? I am not sure what my record is, but guessing around .500. Back in the early days of the Rockies, the 1990s when I was single and quite often took dates to the games, it seems that no matter how good the Cardinals were, we would usually lose a series to the Rox. But over the years things seemed to even out and I have seen a lot of Cardinal wins out here.

We are overcast this morning and cooler weather has moved in since yesterday afternoon. We could get some rain, but I doubt it will be all that much, if any. My guess is we will see sun off and on, and if it rains it will start after the game.

My buddies want to meet up at the Rooftop area in Coors Field where they serve $3 beers. We will be there around noon for beers and chat about the sorry state of our club. One guy is a Cub fan, so he has something positive going on, although even those guys are fighting for first place right now.

As for this one, I think we will see a slugfest. Pallante is certainly a wild card, who can be good when he keeps the ball down, but of late has not been good. I look for us to win with an offensive explosion along the lines of 9 or 10 runs; maybe a 10-6 final, something like that.

Im betting Contreras and Arenado are gone before od 2026. Neither one serves a purpose and both are in the way of players we hope can. Gray is needed.

I see that Pallante is doing his Fedde impersonation today by being ripped to shreds.

More of the same from our SP’s. Down 4-0 after 2 innings.

Results are the same but Fedde was giving up long home runs and line drives. Pallante is getting grounders including one that went under Contreras’ glove. Still, this is 3 games in a row where Pallante gave up a huge inning. Not good.

Pallante with the same tired and weary routine as his fellow members of this rotation as he hands his team a 4 run handicap after 2 innings. Lately these games are decided before you can crack open the first couple of peanut husks. It’s not unlike Yogi once observed…”It gets late early.”

If we have any kind of a decent organization whatsoever, Pallante will be sent to the pen and Oli, Fedde and Mikolas pink slipped before the crack of dawn tomorrow. Anyone whom thinks we’ll get anything in return, other than laughter, for the services of either Mikolas or Fedde is absolutely delusional.

This year just looking like 23 and 24! This team stinks and Fedde is just the latest result of a bad group from top to bottom! I’m sick of tbis crappy show!

Every time Walker goes down, or has time off, he comes back hitting. He did this for a couple weeks to open 25′, and now from the minors (different instructors too). Judging just by available highlights, he looks different again.

IMO – Walker looks a little more like when he initially got called up a couple years ago. Lots of balls on the ground. Lots of hard contact. Maybe a bit better plate discipline.

Walker has closed his stance substantially and is not quite as upright. He looks much better.

Andre can’t rely on favorable DP’s to combat a middling WHIP. The BB% is ok, but there’s needed seperation of his K%. Five balls in play, in a row, is not always the solution.
We hate our batters K’s during rallies, and it’s what Andre needs.

Pallante is the exact opposite to the pitchers we just drafted when it comes to pitch to contact. Who knows how many of them will make it to STL or how long it will take to matriculate through the system.

long it will take to matriculate through the system.

Sounds like however long it takes them to learn a ML secondary pitch or 2.

Struck out the side. Limited the damage. He did this last start too, getting his K’s late. Early on, not so much.

Can Pallante be sent down again? The bullpen thing was an epic disaster last year. Clearly he doesn’t want to be there. We just picked up Wilkerson who they picked up off waiver from the Reds. Could he be any worse?
