There’s something inherently wrong when your favorite team scores 9 runs in the first 2 innings of a baseball game and you’re really, really nervous…

Mathews goes 4 innings, 1 run. His day is done then with 70 pitches. Ryan Fernandez follows with a scoreless top of the 5th. Memphis is up 7-1 in the middle of the 5th. Rochester trails the Mud Hens 9-2 in the bottom of the 8th.

Looks like Memphis will secure their slot. Its too bad Mathews can’t get the walks under control.

Will these 12 runs keep us safe? I’m not so sure.

A total of 6 HR’s in this baseball game with 4 innings yet to play. The record is 13, set in ’19.

Jordan didn’t let that hot shot get between him and the bag, and a strong throw to first.

At the moment of typing this out, the Cardinals have 6 guys in their starting lineup with an OPS over .800 now.

Toledo beats Rochester 9-6. Memphis’ magic number is now 1, with 1 game to go, Memphis leading 10-4 in the top of the 7th. Their bullpen got some heavy use yesterday, so it ain’t over yet. Shuster gave up 2 in the 6th and Blewett has given up 1 with 2 out in the top of the 7th, runner on first.

bling–Yup re Mathews and walks. I wasn’t watching pitch by pitch, so dunno what was up, but seems like regression after those two top not starts.

Someone should have squeezed that foul ball for the 2nd out.

The one they call Bloom really missed his chance. He should have dealt May last Tuesday.

Nice play from Walker in RF to rob Perez. I don’t know how he held on to record the out.

I’ll be surprised if this is reversed.

Memphis holds on to win the first half, 10-8. They gave up 3 in the top of the 9th, and with two out the batter got a 3-0 count, one ball away from the tying run being at the plate. After a strike, Saggese made a diving stop at shortstop and threw the runner out.

It’s a shame that Crooks wasn’t able to apply the tag at HP after the exceptional play by Jordan to snare that GB on the short hop and then make the perfect throw. Should’ve had him.

Lucky they can’t pitch more than we can’t pitch.

Finally got to turn the game on 5 minutes ago. Saw the last 2 outs. Guess I missed 22 runs being scored. Going to have to watch the condensed game highlights.

A tip of the cap to those KC guys. They never gave up.

It’s a win. I think our club is tired of KC.

Yeah, Jnevel, 30 runs and for a minute or two I thought it was going to be 33…Haha!

May only went 44 pitches, so hopefully its nothing health related.
