Wetherholt has some soreness that kept him out of Wednesday’s action. Sounds like that extends through today.

Interesting that they kept Torres. Maybe the fact that he’s playing today against a righty at 2B was enough to keep him over Saggese. I don’t think it matters much as Urias will be back soon and that likely means Torres goes down unless the team is going to cut Fermin or Velasquez.

    Brady Alan Singer:
Drafted by Toronto in Round 2 of the 2015 draft and then by Kansas City in Round 1 of the 2018 draft. In his last 5 starts, the Redlegs have lost all 5. In those 5 games Singer has logged 22 innings, allowing 19 earned runs on 30 hits, while whiffing 17 batters and issuing 9 free passes. In Singer’s last 5 starts, Cincinnati has been outscored 16-41.

Looks like yet another in a long line of din-dins fit for a king for the esteemed Cardinal in France is on tap tonight. How do you say it in French? My French may be a bit rusty, even though I did pass French back in the 9th grade….albeit by the skin of my teeth, but I’ll give it a go…… le festin en forme a un roi. But……..as we all now know, any din-din on Friday night that does not include catfish fiddlers, are unequivocally and immediately disqualified from Game Thread Din-Din of The Day honors. Again this is only on Fridays.

One more thing. Back-to-back Game Thread Din-Din of The Day winners seem to be so ever elusive. So I think we’ll spice things up by offering a $100 gift certificate to Red Lobster to the first poster going forward to pull off the feast…..make that “feat”.

I don’t think the Cubs are going to pull off a big rally today. They trail 16-1 in the 7th. Sorry Cubbies.

I am doing my usual Friday dinner of a large against the grain cheese pizza with a glass of diet mountain dew. For dessert I have one of those jj’s fried glazed apple pies purchased from the local grocer.

I was going to say prime rib and prawns, but the reality is a can of chili with a hot dog…

This weeks revolving door NLC team of the week is the Pirates. The division still doesn’t contain a solitary team that is at or below sea level. I’d have to say that the NLC is officially the creme de la creme of the Big Leagues…

Lower body soreness could be about anything.
I know Scott hasn’t hit well but is anyone else disappointed in his inability to bunt successfully. I seem to remember that one of the off-season narratives was that he was working on his bunting so he could do it more.
Din-din tonight – I am helping my Lions Club serve a free breakfast this weekend and my job was to cook the sausage so spent about 2 hours this morning and cooked 420 sausage links on my Blackstone griddle. Since the griddle was already hot and out I cooked some chicken breasts which I used this evening to make a creamy chicken and spinach pasta. Had some chilled watermelon as a side.

Yeah, lower body soreness is normally what ailed me when I was still working. Unless I was also suffering from a headache, I always seemed to experience pain from the neck down…

Meteorological conditions are quite favorable for this one tonight. All clear and low 80s. It did rain earlier but that was up in Chicago. San Francisco rained runs all day at Wrigley. 18 of them to be exact.

And since today was a CCFF it was Cardinals Catfish Fiddlers Friday out at the Amish restaurant on the lake north of town. Along with mashed potatoes/gravy, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, a piece of chocolate pie and some vanilla soft serve ice cream.

The Giants have banged out 39 hits and scored 30 runs in their last 2 games. Them’s a lot.

Looking at today’s matchups confirms a full slate of baseball. Weren’t a few teams idle on either a Fri. or a Sun. of last season because the ingenious schedule boys couldn’t figure out how to mix and match the recently imposed over abundance of inter-league games so that a full slate was ongoing every Fri. or Sun. of the regular season like it’s supposed to be?

They’re really laying on the heavy hyperbole regarding the return of the Nootz. You’d think Pujols was returning from the IL in ’11.

I like the backwards hat 14 year old vibe. Go Noot!

I wonder if the Cards would swap Leahy and Dobbins. Leahy has been mostly fine but more of a #5 guy.

Plenty of outs left in their pocket and the Redbirds would do well to overcome this 3 run Reds’ lead and win this game. At 3-7 they feature the worst record in the NLC in there last 10 games. Maybe the E-6 Das Boot will get them going.

How in the heck does he watch that 3-2 pitch go by?

He guesses on nearly every pitch 1TD. It’s terribly frustrating.

I don’t think any replay can show as good as an angle that was had by the 1BU.

Yeah, Jnevel, he was guessing that he was going to see that breaking ball way off the outer half that he can’t reach and always chases.

Boy oh boy does Gorman need a hit here.

And he does what he almost always does except this time it wasn’t a changeup.
