I guess it will be 1pm today. Any idea what this is about?

    Hmmm, interesting.

As for the game, this might be a bit of a make or break start for Matt. Although there are not a lot of candidates ready to take his place, but he needs to step it up.

Unless they bring up Dobbins idk what you can do.

Also Lefty starter making mlb debut. Guy likely won’t go 5 innings.

The weather looks favorable for tonight’s clash. There is a band of rain and storms currently entering the SW Missouri area but chances are it will not impact the greater St. Louis metro area. However, stay tuned.

Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Fried chicken, mashed potates/gravy, green beans noodles, dressing, fish, perhaps sweet potatoes or boiled carrots, sweet iced tea, cherry cobbler, and some vanilla soft serve ice cream. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar out on the bench in the front porch area.

I’m guessing we can all agree that Anuk Karunaratne is an all time classic baseball name…Reminds me of when I always wore Hai-Karate aftershave in the hopes of a weekend getaway to some exotic tropical island with Ann Margret.

I’m also curious to know if anyone has heard anything regarding the status or whereabouts of the guy with the nice curly hair who they often referred to as the GM? Is he still stateside or has he been couched somewhere overseas for the last couple of years? I’m wondering if there’s even been a sighting of this guy.

No reason to play Burly vs a lefty.

I saw a pic of Girsch in one of Brian’s spring training reports but I really don’t know what special project he is currently working on.

Thanks, gscottar. I was beginning to worry about his fundamental welfare and safety…With today’s wide variety of organized gambling syndicates, things could potentially get a bit dicey. I was concerned he may have had to go to the mattresses. He’s probably enjoying a fine meal of linguine and clams at the Ravenite club…

Yeah, Bling, anyone who’s 0 for 864 needs to sit against a lefty. It was probably his scheduled day off anyway…

I like Velazquez’s bat, but his glove is horrible and he shouldn’t be assigned fielding duties. He has been -3 runs in just 53 defensive innings.

Who thinks they can pull off the job to sneak in and take all of Velazquez’s gloves to stop him from being asked to play the OF?

I guess Winn’s still suffering from the sore thumb on his glove hand. I’ll never forget when that gang of hoodlums broke both of Fast Eddie’s thumbs. Seeing that not only made me wince, but also had me inclined to avoid the poolroom…

We need Velazquez’s bat in the lineup vs a lefty. But he has to play LF because we also want Herrera’s bat in the lineup but don’t really want him behind the plate, so he has to DH.

Really hot here today, 42 C (107 F) so we weren’t much in the mood for din-din. Just consumed a lot of cold fruit – melons, cherries, apples, grapes, and icy drinks. It’s supposed to ease off a bit tomorrow 37 C (99 F) and we may or many not cook anything. We don’t have AC but our very old house is built of stone 2 and 3 feet thick so we’re mostly cool inside.

Sure would like to see our birds kick it up a notch and push the nose over sea level.

    Rah Cardinals!

Man, that is hot, CIF. I remember the first time I was in Hamburg I stayed at a hotel located right across the street from the train station called The Reichshof. Hamburg’s far enough north that it doesn’t get entirely dark until about 10:00 to 10:30 in July. It’s normally reasonably mild that time of the year, but they were experiencing an unusually lengthy heat wave. It was a nice hotel, but the only AC they had installed was an ice bucket…In any case, the guy at the desk was nice enough to provide this cream puff Yankee with a box fan.

And the 2 out RBI double from Jordan stakes his team to an early 1-0 lead. The youngster’s doing pretty good up here in the Big Leagues.

Someone mentioned earlier that this turn from Liberatore may be decisive in regards to his next stop. I tend to strongly agree with that. In any event, he’s getting a chance right now to punch his own ticket by protecting this 1 run lead.

I’d never even heard the name Karunaratne until this afternoon. All of a sudden he’s one of the head knocker, big bosses of the Cardinals. I can’t pronounce his name, so from this point forward I’ll reference him as, Hai Karate Man.

This has been the routine featured by Liberatore since I first laid eyes on him. At the slightest hint of any trouble he picks and nibbles at the strike zone until he finds himself in a world of it. In my estimation, his chief flaw is that he lacks confidence.

Liberatore has been brutal lately. Listening on the radio so unsure how bad he is missing locations or if it is just hittable stuff. You think they would have to do something different soon as you can’t keep getting such horrible starts out of a guy.

I’d guess that 2 run tater followed by the solo shot from Marte spells his last turn in the rotation for a while and maybe for good.

Lots of audible disapproval from the locals.
