June 18, 2026 at 2:40 pm #310294Another stupid AppleTV game that I can’t see. It’s hard to have a CCFF – Cardinals Catfish Fiddlers Friday – if you can’t watch the game that night.
And then again next Friday the Doyers are at the Padres. And that’s another stupid AppleTV game which I won’t be able to see.
Guess I’ll be watching Barnaby Jones the next two Friday nights.
I am getting sick and tired of this AppleTV crap.

June 19, 2026 at 10:45 am #310390Working the Rox-Bucs game tonight, so I will be scoreboard watching this one and will check out the condensed game tomorrow morning if we win.
Which also means no din-din, and most likely the usual bowl of Raisin Bran around 11:30pm
before I hit the sack.Usually McGreevy keeps us in the game, but we don’t seem to give him much support. The six runs we got last night would probably win tonight’s contest. We will see if we can get that done.
June 19, 2026 at 2:54 pm #310414I’ve been watching very closely, but haven’t seen any news regarding whether the Cardinals/Royals will be allowed to play a baseball game on Saturday as tradition has dictated for as long as I’ve been living in this world. I’m really hoping they’ll relocate that soccer game to somewhere like Argentina or Brazil. I’ve also been led to understand that there are several adequate venues located in the scenic and soccer crazy country of Uzbekistan. They could probably draw a much larger gate than in KC and just think of the enormous concession profits they’d rake in due to the tremendous amount of shashlik and vodka sales! In any case, I’m genuinely hoping that the big soccer bosses will reconsider prior to Saturday afternoon…
June 19, 2026 at 3:44 pm #310415The Lovely Lady Bike is a soccer fan and enjoys checking out the big World Cup games, not to mention checking out the players themselves. 😁
I won’t mention to her about the Cardinals not playing Saturday due to soccer, but if I do say something I can guess her reaction – “There are thousands of baseball games played dear – you can wait a day for one game.” 😆
June 19, 2026 at 4:32 pm #310419Haha…That works out perfectly, Bikemike. You could take her on a nice vacation!

CF N. Church LJune 19, 2026 at 4:56 pm #310423I’ll never forget one time during the late innings of a Cardinal game in which they trailed, Pujols stood in with baserunners aboard and a chance to tie the game or take the lead. It seemed as though the entire time he wore a Redbird uniform, I never saw him fail to deliver in high leverage hitting situations. In any case, on this ultra rare occasion he missed a mistake and K’d for the final out of the inning. You and I both know that he never did that when he was in his prime. I recall that I jumped up from the couch in agony and muttered a couple of bad words as Albert was set down. My dear wife just looked at me and after a second or two calmly said, “I thought you told me he was so good?”…She always knew me better than I knew myself…Haha!
June 19, 2026 at 5:14 pm #310424I had overlooked the fact that this evening’s game has been Applejacked. It took me a little while, but I figured out how to watch it the last time a game was hi-jacked by Peacock, but by the time I’d jumped through all of the flaming hoops and waded through a lot of nonsense to get in on the TV it wasn’t nearly worth the trouble. I also recall that the play by play was less than lackluster, so it looks like it’s KMOX for me. That’s okay though, they can keep their greedy apple broadcast all to themselves.
June 19, 2026 at 5:23 pm #310425Great story 1TD. Yeah, I recall many times when the prime Pujols rose to the occasion. But alas as we know, even the best fail 65 to 70 percent of the time.
I remember as a kid a buddy of mine struck out in a big situation in a little league game – and he was a good hitter. The coach just put his arm around him and said, “Dont worry Tom – Babe Ruth struck out three times for every home run he hit.” 😀
June 19, 2026 at 6:22 pm #310426I played from coach pitch all the way to freshman year of college and the one thing that stands out clear as day in my memory was a walk off can-o-corn to short RF I hit in a Khoury League game at Heine Meine Field in Lemay when I was about 15 years old. It was against our big rival so I was a hero for a day. Its just a funny game to follow and to play.
June 19, 2026 at 6:27 pm #310427Good news = I get AppleTV so can watch
Bad news = There is a line of rain slowly moving into the greater KC area according to my trusty phone radar.Din din tonight was pork loin with smashed new potatoes in the air fryer and the rest of the watermelon from yesterday.
June 19, 2026 at 6:36 pm #310428The can o corn reference brings back great memories of playing back in the day. There are some great baseball terms. Off the top of my head:
Texas leaguer
Ducks on the pond
Frozen rope
Uncle Charlie
Unhook the train-

June 19, 2026 at 6:40 pm #310430I always liked the term seeing eye grounder. It sure is true a lot of times.
June 19, 2026 at 7:02 pm #310431Gameday shows Mautz as pitcher for Memphis tonight, so I’d guess they must think that the guys not used yesterday can handle today, and the ones from yesterday can pitch again Sunday if need be after two days off.
Din-Din was a baked chicken breast, rice, and a salad with a couple miniature chocolate bars for dessert.
June 19, 2026 at 7:22 pm #310432Good start. Herrera walk followed by Burleson double.
Walker with a SF to make it 1-0.June 19, 2026 at 7:58 pm #310434I’ve got the Cardinal game on KMOX as I’m watching the Brewers/Braves on MLB TV with the mute button fully activated. This is kind of nice and my enjoyment is augmented knowing that the Applejack hijackers of the game have been overcome. I feel as though I’ve outwitted all of those lousy corporate big wigs…Haha!

June 19, 2026 at 8:25 pm #310440For those of you not watching, at least you don’t have to see these ugly Royals uniforms. I know that teams make some extra money with these special uniforms but man some of them are ugly.
Royals put up an ugly crooked number in the 4th and take a 4-2 lead.June 19, 2026 at 8:29 pm #310441Folks, I am afraid we might be seeing the beginning of the end. This team is NOT going to finish .500 this year. There is not enough hitting and not enough pitching. Probably looking at a 75 win team here.
It’s just a matter of time before the descent begins.
June 19, 2026 at 8:42 pm #310444McGreevey missing high a lot. Just a bit off tonight. Credit the Royals as well with some really good at bats. They look really confident tonight after beating us around yesterday.
For those of you without Apple TV, Wetherholt turned a terrific double play early in the game. Jordan has also fielded his position well tonight.
McGreevey gives up a HR off Caglione to the opposite field tonight. Not bad pitch. Just really good hitting. Then Perez hits one right at Nootbaar hard and he misplays it just a bit and it goes over his head for a double. McGreevey is leaking lots of runs tonight. You would think this was a good offense. But without Garcia and Witt, it’s certainly not.

June 19, 2026 at 8:45 pm #310446In other news, Chen Wei Lin threw 6 no-hit innings tonight for Springfield. He just got lifted for the 7th.
June 19, 2026 at 8:45 pm #310447Good news down in Georgia as the Braves hold off the Brewers in a 3-2 final.
June 19, 2026 at 8:49 pm #310448How can that be good news 1td???
The Cubs already won today so they gain a game.
That’s not good news.
And it’s irrelevant news as far as St. Louis is concerned.
June 19, 2026 at 9:06 pm #310449I think it’s good news. Therefore, the news is very good news to me. I’d go into a more detailed explanation, but I have to finish destroying these two Bavarian Bismark donuts that I’m enjoying for dessert…

June 19, 2026 at 9:25 pm #310452That was a sweet 4-6-3 put out by KC to end the 8th. Not a great game to watch as a Cardinals fan but that play was pretty impressive.
Then Wetherholt one ups that play in the bottom half by making a diving stop on a ground ball the ricocheted off the pitchers foot and throwing the runner out while sitting.-
