Donovan and Nootbaar have good OBP. At 25 they deserve a shot at showing this season was not a fluke. Carlson is almost 24 he regressed this year but still deserves a shot next year. Gorman is 22 and deserves a shot as well. The one I am less confident in is O’Neill. He is 27 and he seems to be injury prone.
I looked it up. I don’t even remember that much from 1998. It surprised me who the starting pitcher for the Cards was news to me he pitched for us.
Goldy is in a slump. The same can be said by Arenado but not as bad. They both need to right the ship. Mikolas has been pitching well. The win and loss record is not fully controlled by the pitcher. His era is very good especially lately.
If they still had Sosa and he was healthy which he is not currently I would see PDJ released. I don’t see who would be the backup for Edman at ss
Awesome for you GameCard, he is not close to being my favorite cardinal but he is a key and valuable member of team. He just doesn’t do it for me.
I don’t doubt Edman value at all. But I am not a chartered member of his fan club. I like Edman and understand and appreciate his value to the team. That doesn’t mean I have to like him above any other Cardinal. I like other players on the team more than him. So how is that wrong?
I like Gorman and I hope he figures it out. At 22 he has time. But I would have sent him down earlier instead of not playing him. Just my opinion. I think they will have to carry DeJong into the post season because the lack of a ss other than Edman. I rather have Edman in short and let Donovan play second.
