So GC gets to decide which comments are ridiculous. News to me. I rather Waino stay home with the family. He will be 42 in August. I rather give someone else a shot. Sep/Oct 7.22 era I forgot he was hurt. My opinion is a valid as yours.
I still don’t understand why only the good teams should win. Give a me fluky result anytime. Why play the games if the division winner always wins in the wc round? Boring. A team getting hot and playing over their heads as much fun as you can expect from proper and boring deserving winner mold. Nothing better than not having to watch the Dodgers, Yankees, Astros rinse an repeat every freaking year.
Options that include using Edman in a trade. Yes it has to be an option.
I disagree with…baseball has plenty of fans. Maybe until the baby boomers are gone. It is an older generation sport. They need to replenish the fan base.
I guess the MLB doesn’t need fans. The old school baseball fans are on the way out. The season is too long. Expanding to where? They are so many floundering franchises. The talent is so diluted having more teams is asinine. Playoffs = $$$ So many bad teams makes the season boring. The only fun part now is watching the mighty fall during the playoffs. I don’t have the answers but I doubt that a few more teams making the playoffs is the problem.
It is the fans. MLB can’t not survive without a younger fan base. They will do whatever it takes to keep them interested. Speeding up the game, more offense and more teams with shot at at title are all dictated by the younger fans. I am not one of them but I am with them embracing the changes. Time to bring baseball to the new millennium.
I don’t have a problem with 3 wc teams. Best records get a bye so that’s fair. For all the good it did them as only Houston made it to ws. Don’t lose to wc teams there problem solved again.
and that’s exactly how one of the most exciting Card’s team won in 2011 via the wildcard. I am in the minority but I have no issue with WC teams winning. So the division winners that deserve to win are those with the best records. To save all the aggravation of “undeserving” teams winning during the playoffs, eliminate divisions and play top dog from each league…there problem solved.
Mr. GameCard this is not about politics. Nobody is trying to destroy anybody. Mr. Schilling did a fine job on his own to destroy himself he didn’t need any help. Saying we are right and they are wrong is asinine. No side has the total claim to the truth.
Donovan not Donavan
Happy day for GameCard
Eddie GG finalist utility (along with Donovan) and at second base also. Goldy and Arenado also finalists.
Back to back homers for the Padres 4-2
I don’t Edman on any list at the 3rd WAR player. Is there a list I am missing?
All of a sudden WAR is the main measuring stick…times have changed.
Looking forward to the “proficiency” rebuttal. Is going to be epic.

No Trout is in California and staying there
I did not say that did I? I said he has reached his ceiling you said yourself. His career .725 OPS is below average so he is who he is. Great glove and below average hitter. I said Edman is a good player and Iam just not obsessed with him. I can have him on the team or I could trade him.
Eddie’s ceiling has been reached. and it is ok not like Eddie as much as others do. To each his own.
October 18, 2022 at 2:02 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #204845I doubt they will take his contract. He is on the wrong side of 30 with a bad back. Still pass.
October 18, 2022 at 11:16 am in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #204822Trout could be available. But are the Angels paying a portion of his salary? That’s one hefty contract. In my humble opinion Trout has been hurt the last couple of years and he is a right handed bat. For the cost both in money and prospect I would pass on him.
Why undeserving teams? They played the games and they won them. If you wanted the Braves vs the Dodgers and Yankees vs Astros, then do so. And the end of the season take division winners only. Give the bye to the top record and then play the two other winners. Good for the Phillies and Padres they may have not “deserved” it but they earned it.
Then stop at the regular season and take each division winner rank the by record regardless of league and let’s see what happens. I don’t feel bad for the Dodgers, Mets, Braves and hopefully the Yankees will join them later tonight. Too bad the Astros are still in that was the one team I was hoping would be eliminated early. As far as the Cardinals go if they couldn’t beat an “inferior” team maybe they weren’t that much superior.
That’s why the play the games. If the highest seed always should win what’s the point of the post-season?
