There are reports that the Cubs are going to get Hamels to add to their pitching staff…and we…do nothing…
Though now I’m starting to wonder if we should sell high on Reyes, is he going to be the pitcher that many think that he will or will he be the great promise but injury prone pitcher that always misses big chunks of time every year…he’s already lost 2 years to big injuries…
And yet our “stellar” fo still thinks that we’re a playoff team…we’re just after the All-Star break and have a 500 record, we’re a few losses from being at the bottom or almost there in our own division…we need BIG changes, not tinkering…
The Girardi speculation has already begun as I saw an article or two on msn about it…not bashing the interim guy, he’s just in a position where he has to keep up what’s going on but can’t really change much until and if he’s named the ongoing manager after this year…
Or this is the front office’s big attempt to just fix everything with a new manager rather than actually trade players…let’s hope that the firings are not all that the team is doing…
Just heard on the Cubs game that Matheny, Mabry, and another coach have been fired effective immediately…
Shortly after the break we could be more than 10 games back and under 500 for the season, if that isn’t a sign that we need to make several moves I don’t know what is…
Doesn’t Yadi still have 3 years left after this year, so he’s not really a placeholder like the others imho…who knows, Wacha could turn into our middle of the rotation guy…

I still don’t see how the Cubs can get him, at least for anything more than a rental because with all of their players coming up in the next few years to needing new contracts and their want for Harper…they can’t sign them all…
