Speaking of bad baseball……did anybody see the utterly bonehead play that Joey Votto pulled during the Reds game with the Cubs on Sunday afternoon?
Fields a grounder down the line in the last of the 10th and has it in his glove and all he has to do is step on the bag for the 2nd out. He tried to take it out of his glove as he steps on 1stbase and bobbles it. The umps review it and call the runner safe. That loads the bases with one out and the next batter walks to win it for the Cubs.
Chris Welsh even called it bad baseball. Ridiculous play of the year as far as I am concerned.

The Cards get one back in the 4th and one so far in the 5th. Dex has a chance to do some damage here…and grounds out. 4-2 Cards at the midway point.
Cards load the bases with no one out in the 6th. Dejong strikes out and the Sox bring in the reliever. Need a run or two here.

Now Martinez is 1st pitch hacking and it’s 2 outs.
This offense is just brutal at times. We could really stomp on their throats and it appears we’ll be empty unless Ozuna walks here or does what he does best and single.
On the out-of-town scoreboard tonight…….the Reds get seven runs in the 9th and down the Indians by the score of 7-4. What a comeback win that was.
They wont be easy to handle this weekend. We need both games against the ChiSox.
