I like the creativity of the Weaver move by Mo!

CMartinez, Flaherty and Mikolas get starts before the AS break. Gant is #4 starter… it’ll be interesting who the FO selects as #5. Weaver comes back? Gomber gets first MLB start? or is something else in the wind?

I’d be fairly certain that this is a way to limit innings for Weaver more than anything else.

Glad to see Pham moved down. The new look Dejong with the lower K and higher BB rate is a pretty solid hitter for the second spot in the order.

Makes sense to send Weaver down, rather than waste a roster spot with three games left before the break.

Watch out on anything the Reds hit to right field – could be an adventure.

Since May 15th, Cards are 25-27, Reds are 27-23. A Cincy sweep gets them to 4 games back of St. Louis. A Redbird sweep puts the Reds 10 back of St. Louis, same as on May 15.

Weaver will be back to be the #4/5 starter. It is not primarily an innings break for Weaver (though it may serve as that depending how much he pitches at Memphis). What it is is a move to add an arm to the pen without Weaver making a start. It is also a way for Mo.to avoid an even tougher roster decision for a few days.

They’ve sent Mayers down about six times already this season. It won’t be that difficult for them to do it again. That is what happens when no one else in the pen (except Hicks) has options.

Scooter Gennett’s solo homer puts the Reds up 3-1 in the third.

Martinez is done after five innings. Three runs on six hits and two walks.

Now it’s 4-1 in the top of the 7th…

At the game. Lackluster play again, and looks like MM is in trial and error mode with pitchers. Gregerson, really, when you’re down by two? Terrible offense… just one example leaving J-mart on 1st after walking him w/1 out. Fans very frustrated too. We need an intervention for this team!

I guess he figured we’d already mailed it in and it didn’t hurt to pitch both guys off the DL. lol!

Boos ring out at Busch as pinch-hitter Dilson Herrera’s three-run HR off Tui gives the Reds an 8-1 lead. Cincy still batting in the seventh.

My only regret is that I have 4 box seats for this Sunday.

The fans don’t understand what a good team this is. If the starting pitcher, bullpen, and offense had performed better tonight, the Cardinals would probably win the game. Just ask DeWitt, and I’m sure Mo agrees.

Time to look at who can be moved for young talent. This team is sinking and it won’t get better this year. Time to clean house starting with the top guy upstairs and the top guy in dugout.

Good inning by Holland. No errors today.

Cards lose 9-1 to fall to 47-45 on the season. Of the six St. Louis pitchers, only Greg Holland(!) looked good. The meager offense consisted of four hits, all singles.

Yep, offense is lifeless. Reds’ pen has been abused recently, but tonight four Reds’ relievers combined to hurl four hitless innings.

This team is one of the most uninspiring Cardinal teams I can remember – going back many decades.

To all the Cardinal greats who have worn the Jersey with the birds on the bat proudly, I want to humbly apologize for this years 2018 team for utterly disgracing the honor and pride of the Cardinals name and history that comes with it.
