stlcard25ParticipantGuess that Conteras homer was the reminder that with the wind blowing out, they can’t rest on their laurels. Gotta keep pummeling Lester and get into that bullpen early.
July 20, 2018 at 2:16 pm #61068Great base running by Wong there to get a double out of that
July 20, 2018 at 2:17 pm #61069NJ315
ParticipantThe lefties killing Lester!
July 20, 2018 at 2:42 pm #61071
stlcard25ParticipantJack can’t put Heyward away with the 10 pitch walk and it’s looking like the Cards may end up going to their pen before the Cubs do, even.
July 20, 2018 at 2:42 pm #61072Flaherty has thrown a ton of pitches this inning. Bases loaded. 1 out.
July 20, 2018 at 2:44 pm #61073GLad Baez is a crappy hitter as Jack didn’t throw him a SINGLE strike that AB and struck him out
July 20, 2018 at 2:46 pm #61074
stlcard25ParticipantI believe the Cards have a policy for these young guys that at a 40 pitch inning they are pulled. If Jack can’t get Contreras out he’s likely done for the day.
July 20, 2018 at 2:47 pm #61075didnt throw conteras a strike either jesus these cubs hitters are sTUPID
July 20, 2018 at 2:49 pm #61076NJ315
ParticipantFlaherty got out of it which is good. 70 pitches in 3 innings not so good. Need more runs.
July 20, 2018 at 2:50 pm #6107736 pitches that inning by Flaherty.
July 20, 2018 at 2:54 pm #61078NJ315
ParticipantCarp is beyond hot…no words. Lester not sharp 2 on no outs.
July 20, 2018 at 3:01 pm #61079Lester is gone in the 4th after loading the bases and getting nobody out. Even though score is 5-1, Cards better capitalize this inning because I have a feeling 5 runs isn’t enough to win it (Wrigley Field, wind blowing out, our bull pen, etc.).
July 20, 2018 at 3:04 pm #61081NJ315
ParticipantOzuna singles 6-1 still bases loaded no outs
July 20, 2018 at 3:10 pm #61082
stlcard25ParticipantThis is amazing. Lester’s great ERA soiled by the Cards. He’s up over 3.10 now.
July 20, 2018 at 3:17 pm #61083Top of the 4th, 1 out and score 9-1 with runners on 2nd and 3rd…
July 20, 2018 at 3:18 pm #61084I hope there is not a lot of rain in the area. Right now I just want to get through 5 innings.
July 20, 2018 at 3:18 pm #61085Make that 11-1 after Pham hits a 2 run single…
July 20, 2018 at 3:22 pm #61087Carp goes from DFA candidate to MVP candidate in less than two months…..ok maybe I’m exaggerating a little but still!
July 20, 2018 at 3:25 pm #61088
stlcard25ParticipantThe radar doesn’t look like it’s gonna be that bad there. Maybe a delay but not an all evening storm.
July 20, 2018 at 3:50 pm #61090Bottom of the 5th, score 12-1…
July 20, 2018 at 3:53 pm #61091Now it is an official game. Let the rain pour. Save our bullpen.
July 20, 2018 at 4:02 pm #61092Not 1, not 2 . . . . . 3 HRs.
Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 . . . . . 5 XBHs.
July 20, 2018 at 4:08 pm #61093
stlcard25ParticipantMarp going all Albert Pujols on those Cubs. Insane. I kinda want to see him get another at bat to see if he can get 4.
July 20, 2018 at 4:09 pm #61094Not sure I agree with the changes for the Cardinals. Pena to catcher, Molina to 1B, Garcia to SS, Bader to LF. There are still 4 innings to play.
July 20, 2018 at 4:12 pm #61095Pretty impressive day
Fowler, Pham doing well both with multiple hits
Carp obviously having an historic day
Jack keeping his composure through the hit parade and the rain
Gregerson had a tailor made ground ball double play ball booted by Gyorko that would have ended the 6th
Defense has to get better
still got out of it with a GIDP but defense needs to play a part in helping our bullpen
