I like the DH platoon as long as Burleson is hitting. It gives Herrera plenty of rest from catching and stabilizes that position. Yes, DH is a position. It’s not as easy as people think.

Make the scampi than stir in the grits with all the butter and garlic you sautéed the shrimp in. Big cup of Starbucks kcup with some frozen pretzels covered with dark chocolate. No discussion of Tommy Herr is complete without this little gem!
I think Scott and Herrera have played their way into starting everyday regardless of handedness. JMO. Offensively Walker has struggled even in platoon role. Burly has picked it up enough offensively. I just don’t want wearing a fielding glove.
I hear what your saying JJ but can you imagine the scenario if the Cardinals and Cubs are tied for first place with one week before the trade deadline? The Cardinals trade away Arenado, Helsley, Matz, and Fedde while the Cubs trade for a big bat and starter. Cardinal Nation will not be happy.
The least they can do in that case is NOT trade Fedde and Helsley.
#1-Libby solidified the rotation.
#2-Scott solidified the outfield defense. Siani played defense but his offense just didn’t play in the majors. No way we could take advantage of Walkers much improved defense while waiting for his offense to come around without Scott’s contributions on offense.

You are right Dom. Plain stupid they can’t even out the schedule. You should be playing your division at different parts of the season. Maybe it’s too much trouble for them.
There’s a reason I don’t gamble. I didn’t think there was any way this team goes anywhere. But here they are without any offense from Gorman and Walker. I think Winn is the best player on this team. But a healthy Noot has been invaluable. It’s still way early. But tonight’s second game was impressive
Just tuned in tv. Missed first game but listening to second on my way home from fishing. Caught some nice smallies and the boys are all the way back from a 5 run first. Doesn’t get much better.
When your starters are pitching deeper in games and leave with a lead, the manager gets a lot smarter.
