Matz channeling the great lefty #32s this year (Koufax & Carlton).

These guys are just people. Matz had had some tough times. Real nice to see that smile when Oli took the ball from him.

Herrera with that walk is now running a .500 OBP in his limited sample size of 66 PA this season

That’s a good ball in play, in late innings by Pages.

Leahy gives up the lead, but at least it is 9 1 2 coming up.

You would think you could time a guy that only throws change ups, but Kahnle makes a living off of only throwing that pitch.

Well shucky darns. We gave it a shot after spotting them four, but didn’t quite finish.

That is a loss, but still with a chance to win the series. With Skubal on the mound tonight a W was a hard task. I would feel a little better if it were someone other than Pallante on the mound tomorrow though. Those Tigers hitters have some power and may take advantage of some Pallante misses.

Enjoyable but a loss. It’s a bucketful every year.

With a good read, a good jump, and a good route, that ball hit by McKinstry leading off the 8th could have been caught. And the lead run for the Tigers would not have been on base. Burleson was playing the outfield like he had lead feet.

I understand what you’re driving at, mudville, but with a good read, a good jump, and a good route, Flood would have squeezed Northrup’s drive for the final out of the visitor half of the 7th…That’s baseball for you.
