I won’t be able to view this one as I will either be incarcerated for my gravel thievery or I will be down at the Amish restaurant having fried chicken, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, cherry cobbler and vanilla soft serve ice cream. Then afterwards a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar out on the bench in front of the main entrance.
Be nice to get a series win. But no big deal if we don’t. The Tigers are the best team in baseball. And besides, like we all know, we are playing for 2026 and beyond. We don’t have a chance in 2025.

I remember hearing about this years ago and not believing it to be true until I looked it up. I was once again reminded of this astonishing reality while looking at some baseball stuff earlier this evening. Whenever I think about the fact that it is indeed the reality, I’m still entirely astounded by the fact that Stan Musial and Ken Griffey Jr. were both born in Denora, Pennsylvania. And if that weren’t enough, they were both born on November 21st. And oh, I almost forgot to mention…They both stood in from the left side…

I was telling someone in my family this fact on Saturday. One of those crazy things that sounds like it couldn’t possibly be true. I wonder who could lay claim to being the 3rd best lefty hitting outfielder born Nov 21 in Donora, PA? Lol
Not baseball related, but on the same theme…my favorite “can’t possibly be true” fact is that our tenth President, John Tyler, born 1790, has (or at least had, as of last year) a living grandson. Not great great great great grandson, or any of those ancestry tags…but his son’s son yet lives. Amazing, yet true.

Our righty bats showed up yesterday vs Skubal, but not with 3 different lefties in todays game. Overall, an RBI single is their only claim to fame. 1 fer 17 with a 1/7 bb/k.

The Cubbies got another cupcake W with the Marlins today to stretch their lead to 3 games. They now travel to Cincinnati for 3 games while the Cardinals host the Dbacks. The Cubbies have gone 7-2 in their last 9 games which have consisted of 6 with the Marlins and 3 with the White Sox. There’s no way I’m going to fault them for grabbing a bargain, but after they play the Reds in Cincinnati, they return to Wrigley for 3 games against…you guessed it…the Rockies. “My name’s, Jimmy, and I’ll take anything you gimme!”
