Neato! We should be able to tee off on this Nido guy……Oops almost forgot that we’ve called off the doggies here.

Who’d they say is up next……Dirk Digler? I’ve heard that name somewhere before……maybe an ex-Giant?

The only mystery remaining tonight is if Rat was able to successfully swipe enough gravel from the factory next door to him, so he could fill in his driveway potholes. What’s the word, Rat?

Yeah the cubbies losing in the 9th tonight was a thing of beauty. I still haven’t figured out what gives me greater pleasure. A Cards win or a cubs loss?

Tigers score a 8th inning tally vs King, thus putting the kabosh on a Cards shutout. If they score 5 more here this inning we’ll have to rescind the motion to call off the dogs.

Boy the 1st base ump may have just rendered the most emphatic out call I’ve ever seen on the last out in the Tiger 8th. He nearly threw his back totally out of whack. I’d love to see the replay on that.

This Nido guy was absolutely perfect through his 1 2/3 innings of labor. They may want to stretch this guy out and send Jack Flash to the pen.

I think I’ve chased all of our posters away. What a beautiful time to catch a foul ball with the joint being nearly empty. If anyone here has ever caught an official MLB foul ball, I’d love to read about it.

I thought our offense supposedly stunk? It doesn’t look like it.

This is the wrong situation for Graceffo. I’ve seen this time and time again. When he’s not emotionally amped up to pitch, he gets bad results. Hard to be emotionally ramped up for this one. Barrero didn’t help him either with that error.

Oh oh, first 3 Tigers have reached in the 9th. 11-2 now and what a devastating loss this would be if the unthinkable and still highly improbable event occurred. I don’t think ANY team could recover from such a heinous defeat.

I am late to the party tonight. We had some tornadoes close to the house tonight in NW Ark. Very close actually. All is well though in my neighborhood.

Yeah, I’d have to guess it’s a little humiliating to have a career backup catcher come into a game and set down every hitter he faces with the exception of Winn, who he plunks with an eephus pitch…Haha!

Sorry to hear that GScottar. This Spring weather has been rough on everyone in the Midwest. Glad you’re ok!

Glad all is well there in the beautiful state of Arkansas, Scotty. It does seem like the weather is becoming more violent, especially in our southern states. 11-4 Birds your final.

I guess Oli told Graceffo to ‘Just throw strikes.’ So that’s what he did.

I finally got a souvenir off the bat of Bret Boone, Pugs. It’s the only one I was ever fortunate enough to grab. It was during a weekday day game. Either a businessman’s special or a lady’s day. I was in my late 30’s and had snagged many a batting practice souvenirs, but those don’t count. I also snagged my foul ball barehanded on a fly. If you snag one with a mitt, those don’t count either unless you’re younger than 13 years old…Haha!

Edit; And I received a standing O from the crowd…No kidding! I had to really hustle up and use all my skills to squeeze that slicing foulball…Haha!

It looks like this one was blown wide open after the rain delay. Hopefully they saved some of those runs for the next 2.

But overall great to get a win against the team with the best record in the majors in game 1 of the series. That gives us good odds of coming out winners of another series. Oh and 1 back of the Cubs again now.

Really good to see Walker with a 2 run double in his pinch hit appearance. Here is to hoping his confidence is going up and up. Getting Walker and Burly going would be great for this team.

The Redbirds pushed plenty of runs across tonight, but more importantly, they’ve now allowed fewer runs than any first place team in the NL. Cardinal pitching has now allowed fewer runs that has the pitching staffs of the Dodgers, Phillies or Cubs.

We’re one week in on about a 30 game stretch where our schedule is brutal, while the cubbies is extremely soft. So far we have obviously weathered the storm quite nicely. The cubbies began the campaign with a very difficult slate. If we can just stay within a few games of them by the time we finally meet face-to-face with the cubbies, then we are going to be in fantastic shape.

Good show on the bare-handed foul ball snag, TD! I’ve never caught one, but if I did……even at this age……the little kiddies near me with their hands out, will be totally out of luck as that ball is heading home with Pugs. The little rascals have another 60 or 70 years to get one…..I unfortunately do not have that luxury.

Looks like you guys had a great time last night while I was busy sawing logs. Now I’m faced with a difficult decision: Cranking up the MLB-TV replay this morning or taking Madame CiF to her medical appointment. Hmmmmm…

I got a ball in 1967. You notice I said got. There were not a lot of fans that final year in KC and my recollection is there was very little competition for it as it rolled down the isle. I was 10. We were lower middle class and it had no real nostalgic value. We used it.
On another note, I’m still waiting for Herrera to cool off. This reminds me of a few other epic seasons I’ve followed closely. I decline to name them.

You know a player is hot when he goes 2-5 and his batting average goes down.

Another good win! Solid pitching, great defense and great offense. Was good to see the offense break out after two low scoring games in Kansas City. Keep it rolling Redbirds!
