KeepComingBackParticipant: Fanduel. It was too bad for fans as it was a missed opportunity, but the two aren’t connected. IMO, it would be a bad precedent for the marketing people to push for a minor league manager to play a player for non baseball reasons
Well put. It was a missed opportunity. I understand your point about marketing people
KeepComingBackParticipantIt’s not outrage. It’s disapointment in the teams tone deafness toward their customers. It’s raisiing ticket prices and lowering payroll. It’s lowering the quality of the product. It would have been nice for fans to see their #1 prospect everyone is waiting for. They featured him on the ads for the game. I enjoyed seeing Matthews. But their cavalier attitude toward their fanbase is going to only make things worse. I think I liked it better when they acted like they cared.
KeepComingBackParticipantI think everybody who tuned in to that broadcast was disappointed Wetherholt didn’t play.
It’s not that his fastball has to improve, but that sure makes him better. I personally don’t want to see him pitching 96 again. That may have caused the injury.
We forget that a guy doesn’t have to throw 100 to be a good pitcher.
KeepComingBackParticipantI think everybody who tuned in to that broadcast was disappointed Wetherholt didn’t play.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf you are the Cardinals I guess you don’t want the fans to get a look at your #1 prospect on an off day when his team is being televised locally.
KeepComingBackParticipantThanks Brian. Im exited to see tonnights game!

KeepComingBackParticipantI agree jj. Need to keep his pitchcount down for the rest of the year.

KeepComingBackParticipantAfter watching Mikolas he looks like Steve Carlton. 1 bad pitch.
KeepComingBackParticipantNice to hear the breakdown on the prospects we received at the td. We should all understand that we weren’t going to get ML ready elite prospects back for rentals. But it sounds like these guys have some elite skills that can be added to and hopefully our new improved player developement system can work with them and move them along towards the major leagues.
KeepComingBackParticipantI dont even bother knowing who will be available anymore. We arent getting them unless it’s a one year dumpster dive deal for an innings eater.

KeepComingBackParticipantThat’s the world we live in.
KeepComingBackParticipantJj 3for 4 with a homerun and 3 rbi. Jordan 1 for 3 2rbi. Today.

KeepComingBackParticipantThat extended run on Gorman at 3rd was short lived.
I make no attempt to figure out what they’re thinking. Logic says to play Gorman as long as he is healthy.

KeepComingBackParticipantWinning games would me good medicine for this young team. Even better medicine for the manager if they’re considering a change next year. Finishing this season above 500 would be a nice accomplishment.

KeepComingBackParticipant…
He was either half tight or entirely loaded depending upon the inning…Haha! He was my all time favorite
My first wifes uncle had a bar downtown. He and Harry were friends. Harry came there after the games when the Cubs were in town. It was a small, dark, hidden little place where Harry could enjoy some anonymity. I can assure you if he wasnt pretty tight before he got there he was after.

KeepComingBackParticipantHe’s had plenty of opportunities to hit MLB pitching. Even a good 20 game run still wouldn’t make me a believer because he would still have 31 games to go into his patented slumps
I have this feeling theyre’ done with him.
I will expand on that. They give him the rest of the year for his “injury” to heal than he waives his ntc for whatever deal they can make in the offseason. Yes I made all that up. It’s just a hunch.August 2, 2025 at 9:14 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #112 thread – Saturday, August 2 at San Diego #289399

KeepComingBackParticipantI agree Brian. I watch all these guys come thru our system and I’m a lot slower to be ready to cut the cord like I am with guys like Arenado Mikolas even Contreras. But they are definitely slow learners at the major league level. We have 3 guys Jj Saggesse maybe Church and now Baez and Jordan. These guys have to be given a pathway if Walker and Gorman aren’t going to be above average Ml players. They have to excel or we need to move on. And just know I love both of these guys. But its time. And yes Walker should have a longer leash than Gorman.

KeepComingBackParticipantRat you’re going to have to take some deep breaths for at least the next couple of months. Maybe longer. This is what they’re rolling with. I doubt Arenado comes back. As if that would help.

KeepComingBackParticipantAt this point there’s no use in having any expectations. I’m going to sit back, watch the show. Anticipating the changes brought by Bloom and the new regime. If nothing else, i hope he can bring some energy and hope to the fanbase. I’m tired of all the negativism. They’ve earned it, but baseball is supposed to be fun. This has been anything but for the last several years.
